Extremely Disappointed After Poor Treatment of Our Group

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after organizing a group event at Port of Call with over a month of confirmed communication, I feel compelled to share our experience. I run a well-established community Euchre Club in Charleston, and we had clearly coordinated a weekly Thursday meetup from 6:30–8:30 PM, including early arrivals to enjoy food and drinks.

When our group of 12 arrived, the staff had no idea we were coming, despite confirmed arrangements. The upstairs space we were promised was unavailable because the manager had already sent staff home. We were then told that, unlike other guests, our group wasn’t allowed to receive happy hour pricing, even though we arrived during the 4–7 PM window and were spending money like regular patrons. After pushing back, we were begrudgingly “allowed” to receive the discount—this time.

To make matters worse, we were told to leave by 7:15, just as our games were starting. The manager never once came out to speak with us—our poor waitress had to relay all of the awkward messages while doing her best. Ultimately, we were forced to wrap up early and leave by 8:00, despite having a clearly confirmed 2-hour time slot.

The next day, we were given a vague excuse about "potential flooding" (even though there wasn’t a drop of rain that night) and told the venue was no longer interested in hosting us moving forward. No accountability, no attempt to make things right, just a $50 gift card and a brush-off.

We spent hours organizing, communicating, and bringing in paying customers on a slow night—only to be treated like an inconvenience. Hugely disappointing. Would not recommend this venue for any type of organized...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Port of Call - Food & Brew, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of delightful! From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I loved the atmosphere. Abi's exceptional service truly elevated my dining experience. Her joyful demeanor and infectious smile were contagious, instantly brightening up the atmosphere of the restaurant. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining needs were met. Abi's genuine enthusiasm for her job was evident in the way she interacted with both customers and her fellow staff members. The food at Port of Call - Food & Brew was equally impressive. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. From the juicy burgers to the perfectly cooked scallops, every bite was a true delight to the taste buds. The ambiance of Port of Call - Food & Brew was also worth mentioning. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch or a cozy dinner, this place has got you covered. The friendly staff and lively atmosphere made it a perfect spot for a gathering with friends or a family outing. Overall, my experience at Port of Call - Food & Brew was...

Bok Choy Boy is the real deal! As a Filipino-American who grew up in Los Angeles and lived in both DC and NYC, it has always been a challenge finding quality Asian food in Charleston (especially downtown!). Bok Choy Boy in the Port of Call Food Hall is undoubtedly the tastiest Asian fusion food that I have eaten since moving here and does a great job in maintaining all of the authentic Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Filipino flavors that I always enjoyed throughout my life.

My wife and I ordered lumpia (Filipino egg rolls), dumplings, a fried mochiko chicken rice bowl, a katsu sandwich, and ube bread pudding. My father-in-law also ordered the Korean fried chicken (not pictured). Needless to say, everything was delicious and just brought back all of familiar flavors that I grew up with in LA and enjoyed in DC and NYC. If you only had to pick a few items, the fried mochiko chicken rice bowl and Katie sandwich are definitely our top two. All in all, I highly recommend anyone in the Charleston area to try Bok Choy Boy and get a taste of the best Asian fusion...

Finally got over to check this place out. It was Sunday at lunch time but it wasn’t very busy yet. It’s like a typical food hall with 4 different concepts to try. There’s bbq, Asian, Greek and poke and oysters. I had been following Bok Choy Boy and wanted to try a few things. They were sold out of their special so I went with the recommendation and got Katsu Curry. It was a large portion with tons of flavor. They’ve got 3 bars. One outside, one downstairs and one upstairs. When I went they had live music and had TVs on upstairs where the dining room is. The place is pretty nice and there are enough options to keep everyone happy. I’ll definitely be back to try some other options.

Alright not going to lie- when we first got here we thought about leaving. It was very dead even though it said live music (there wasn’t any) and one of the food vendors was closed, but I’m SO glad we stayed. We got food from the bbq place and from the Greek place- I cannot express how good the food was! While waiting for food we grabbed drinks from the bar and the speciality drinks killed it. Large area upstairs to eat or outside- we had to eat outside because we had a stroller and there wasn’t an elevator that we saw, which was fine. Lots of flies outside but….it’s outside so that’s to be expected. Would absolutely come back- seriously speechless at how good the food was!
