So I had the seasonal Pumpkin Stuffed French Toast, and it was DELICIOUS!!! My friends got the Banana Foster French Toast, which the bread wasn't normal French toast bread. And there was something lacking that they didn't fulfill their satisfaction. I just can't remember what. I'm sorry that's not very helpful. My other friend got her usual White Chocolate Bread Pudding Pancakes, which she still loved. We also tried the candied bacon bits, which had an abundance of sugar and not the same as this restaurant in another city, which we liked better.
But the thing that really didn't leave a warm and fuzzy was the service. As a general statement for across the US, service, not just in restaurants, has drastically declined over and since covid, and yet they want a higher percentage. My family has been in a service industry my entire life, so I have some comparisons. I have also been lucky to travel the world to how and what other cultures provide service. Im usually a 20% tipper but when the waitress tells me to order my drink at the beginning when I specifically ask for them to bring it out with the meal so it helps her that is not good service. It isn't even average. If they brought out my milk before my pumpkin stuffed French toast arrived, it would not have last until they did, hence the purpose of the request. Milk is a must to balance out the delicious french toast. They also brought the appetizer out AFTER the main dishes were served. Needless to say, the service was a bit lacking.
Recap - food worth it! Service - nothing to...
Read moreThis was our family's first visit, and the food did not disappoint. My husband and I ordered each of the benedicts and they were fantastic. My daughter had the cinnamon swirl pancakes and they were delicious, but definitely sweet! My son had pancakes, grits, and bacon. My kids both liked the grits with shredded cheddar, but they definitely needed salt added to them. Our server was hustling, but they were definitely understaffed as stated in other reviews and continues to be a problem at many restaurants in the area. Due to the lack of staff our wait was a bit longer and it took a while for our food to come. There were also a few errors made. We never received our French toast bites that we ordered and were looking forward to trying (they were removed from our bill). After looking closer at the receipt I noticed that we were charged for an extra bowl of grits and a chocolate milk that the waitress brought to our table when our son's first was empty but that we did not ask for which added up to $6.75 in food/drink we didn't have. I didn't ask the waitress to fix the bill because they were so busy and there was a line at the door. Also, I think we would skip ordering chocolate milk there because it is $3.75 a glass...
Read moreThis is the second time I have come to this establishment. Both times the biscuits were very hard and very bland. Did the gravy does make it better just a little bit, but not enough to soften the biscuits whatsoever. I asked for eggs scrambled hard and what I received was scrambled eggs out of a bag barely cooked enough to be solidified. Every time our waitress came over to ask if everything was okay she would ever only look at the person that I was with as if she was asking him directly. Each time I had food in my mouth and couldn't speak up, even though she only came over twice. She would never look at me to make her aware that I needed to say something. This made me extremely mad and I think she could tell that I was upset but never said anything brought us our check.
When she asked if I was done with the half-eaten plate of food I told her yes because it's not edible and she didn't even remove it from the table. She just walked off like she didn't even hear me.
The atmosphere is pretty basic for a brunch place. A little bit of advertising for some of the merchandise that they sell, along with some artwork typical of a brunch establishment.Nothing to write home about.
I will...
