Loved everything about this restaurant. Made a reservation for a high top (could have also chosen bar seating). Table was ready for us when we arrived. Server was attentive without being bothersome, friendly, and professional. Good beverage menu offering signature cocktails, mocktails, wines, beer, and bubbles. Both the cocktails we got were top notch and served nice and cold. Had the Black Sheep (high recommend) as well as The Accidental Daiquiri, also amazing. Menu has small plates and larger plates to choose from. Went with the larger plates. My husband’s meal was got The Archer Salad with roasted salmon and when it was brought to the table it was colorful and vibrant. He absolutely loved it and said the salmon was cooked perfectly (and it was a good sized piece as well). He got the dressing on the side. I went with the braised short rib. It was heavenly. So tender and moist without any fat or grizzle. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes that were silky smooth and bourbon glazed onions….like candy….sooooo good. The place was packed but the staff was able to move guests in and out with ease. Nice decor and vibe. Highly recommend!

They have been open 4 months, and they are crushing it. The restaurant is open, airy, great colors. The drink menu has something for everyone. The food is so good. We had 4 appetizers that were all phenomenal. Burrrata, spicy shrimp, turnips, and grilled oysters all were amazing. The short ribs had a deep flavor, and were fork tender. The duck frites was so good, the gravy with the fries and the duck were the perfect combination. The burger was so good as well. The staff was awesome and can't wait to go back. Love that they change the venu seasonally as well. We just went back 2/15 and it is still 5 Stars. We had Charlotte as a server and she was phenomenal. Lots of chirping at our table and she was right on queue. We had an amazing night with friends, and The Archer was part of the night. Keep doing what you guys are doing

That sounds like a fantastic review! Here’s a polished version you can use: Five Stars! Our first visit to Archer on Meeting Street was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the ambiance, energy, and inviting atmosphere. The drinks were unique, and the menu was one of the most creative we’ve ever seen. I highly recommend the grouper with cannellini bean broth—it was exceptional. And for my meat-loving husband, the walnut bolognese was a standout! Every detail, from the flavors to the presentation, was thoughtfully crafted. We will most definitely be back soon, and I can’t recommend The Archer enough for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Charleston!

As someone who’s been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years and visiting from San Diego, I can confidently say The Archer in Charleston, SC, is the kind of place where you walk in and instantly feel like you’ve found your new favorite hangout. It feels like home. Chris, the host, is basically the mayor of good vibes, making sure everyone feels like a VIP. His presence and attention to detail blew me away.

Let’s talk food: The Seared Duck Frites is a glorious, indulgent dish that’s all about comfort—juicy duck, citrusy jus, and those crispy shoestring fries with béarnaise sauce that’ll make you swoon. If you’re in the mood for something lighter but still packed with flavor, the Oven Roasted Wreckfish is your go-to. It’s paired with a smooth celery root puree, roasted squash, and local mushrooms that really showcase the best of Charleston’s local ingredients. And don’t miss the Charred Cabbage Schnitzel—it’s a flavor bomb with local mushrooms and spaetzle that’s just chef’s kiss.

This spot is a total gem, whether you’re a local or just cruising through town. Trust me, you’ll leave with a full belly and...

Checked out The Archer for the first time last night and it will definitely be a new go-to spot for us (especially given they offer free and easy parking downtown!).

The space is very cozy and lively without being overly noisy or chaotic. The cocktails, wine, and food we had (chicken liver mousse, petite salad, duck frites, and spicy okta) was all amazing and reasonably priced -- which is rare these days.

But the real highlight was sitting at the bar with Teddy, who made the whole experience A+.

He's obviously done this awhile and takes great pride in his work as he offered incredibly casual and friendly yet impeccable service. He gave great recommendations without being pushy (or pushing high-priced dishes/wine) and an empty plate or 1/2-full glass never sat more than a couple seconds before it was taken away or refilled.

Always refreshing/inspiring to see someone take that kind of ownership in their job. And it's easy to see why he has won multiple bartending and service awards over the years!

Thanks to Teddy and team at The Archer. Already looking forward...
