Jitters Cafe — Restaurant in Charlestown

Waited in a long line only for two college girls in front of us to buy out almost all of the bagels (16 bagels if we heard correctly) besides spinach and wild berry. The cashier did not let us know they were low on bagels, we assumed there were more in the back, and we put in our order. We waited for our food while others put their orders in after us, until the cook came to tell us they couldn't make our food. We cancelled our entire order and left with nothing. I'm sure others after us waited for their orders as well just to be told "sorry would you like your egg sandwich on a wild berry bagel?" Why would you sell almost all of your bagels with a full line of people out the door? That's just bad business, why would you not allow others to get their breakfast too? We won't be...

I recently moved to Charlestown during the summer and was looking for a new cafe to frequent similar to the one I was going to where I lived. I was greeted with 2 girls the first time rude and condescending as could be when I asked for the coffee flavors that I couldn’t find posted anywhere. I came back for a second chance and same thing. Today I had an issue with my bank at the register and the boy working sneered and laughed at me for it. I will drive however far is needed to go back to alaina's coffee. I feel at home they’re welcoming and like a second family. This is nothing the same. The attitude of the staff towards lower income college students is horrendous. I will never be back. I think it’s safe to say the transition from The Bakery to Jitters was successful! As a life long lover of The Bakery, I was both sad and skeptical of the new takeover. However, they’ve done it! The people are lovely, the food is good as ever, especially the sandwiches and cinnamon rolls, the drinks are great too. In the summer you should expect quite a wait, but it’ll be worth it! The atmosphere is buzzing and adorable. I love the charming window boxes and little tables outside. You can also pick up Jitters gear and packaged coffee (which I’ll be doing for the holidays!)
