Chicken King - Yorkmont — Restaurant in Charlotte

Living in Charlotte my entire life and never knew there was a Chicken King off Yorkmont, wow! I am so glad that now I know because I go to this location often and the customer service is fantastic. I always get either a grilled chicken salad without onion and/or the gyro pita without onions and extra Tzatziki sauce. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Mrs. Carol is so sweet. I miss the conversations. The service is quick and the food is good. The reason for the 4 stars is because I went a particular day and when I arrived to the house the gyro and fries looked and tasted re fried... the meat was tough. Maybe, I just caught them on an off day. I will definitely continue to eat at this location. Usually, one bad experience and i'm done but not here. Simply because of the customer service and the fact 99% of the time I do receive excellent food. Not to mention, the place is clean and the prices are great. That truly makes a difference...

I’m a bit conflicted on my review. The fried chicken was amazing, really some of the best I had! But the sides were a let down. Mac & cheese had zero flavor—had to go grab the salt and pepper. Mashed potatoes and gravy tasted good but were cold. After I placed the order, I was told it would take about 15 minutes, which was totally fine because I had time to kill, but it actually took 35 minutes. The chicken is made to order, which I appreciate, but they should figure out how to properly serve everything warm. Even then, I didn’t receive all of the chicken and she brought out more about 10 minutes later. She gave me an extra piece because of the wait. So I’d come again, but just for the chicken..it really was that good.

Atmosphere was just scattered, unorganized tables and chairs. They could do better and this place would have some really good potential. The staff was kind too....

In todays world excellent customer service is hard to come by. I stopped in on a semi-busy Friday night and was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of customer service given by the young lady in the front. She greeted pleasantly, did not rush me or pressure me, and went above and beyond to bring my food and checked on me after I began eating. I even saw her refill a drink for an elderly woman DESPITE the fact that I KNOW that is most definitely not a requirement of her job. I also witnessed this young lady maintain composure with a very rude customer and still go above and beyond just killing the rude individual with kindness. Whoever is the boss of this place, don’t lose this girl—this type of customer service is one in a million!!!!!
