Where to start…called before I booked the room to ensure they had a shuttle service for the airport as I was only staying one night since I got bumped from my flight. Just wanted a place to put my head for a little while and honestly felt unsafe the entire stay. Within five minutes of entering my room I went to turn on a lamp and the shade fell (picture attached) and broke the light bulb which shattered everywhere. I went to the front desk and made sure I wasn’t going to be charged for this as the lamp already appeared to be glued back together in some fashion. I had to ask for a broom to clean up the broken light, front desk didn’t even offer any type of clean up. As I was walking back the room service cart had a vacuum that I borrowed and used. I should have packed up and left at that point but decided since it was only for a few hours I could press. The ac unit wouldn’t stop running and I ended up unplugging them at one point. I then checked my bedroom and noticed the damage paint within the room, also throughout the “living room area”, then checked the bed for any creatures and discovered the small dark stain on the blanket (picture attached). I assume it was bbq sauce based on the darkness of the color, didn’t want to find out either way. The laminated floor was pretty tore up as well. Most of the outlets were so warn that a standard usb wall charger wouldn’t stay in. The lamp outlets didn’t work at all. The usb port on the clock that was in the room didn’t work. I went to set a wake up call and my phone in my room wasn’t even plugged in and when I attempted to plug it in is when I discovered the outlets didn’t even work. There was a phone in the living room area that also didn’t work, not sure why I was surprised. Had no toilet paper in the room. Hotel lobby smelled heavily of marijuana. Staff claimed the system was down and couldn’t check me out until morning and would email me an invoice. Called twice and still haven’t received an invoice, I give up. I’d prefer to give this location a negative star review if I could because 0 or 1 seem too high, like most of the staff. I understand it’s legal but doesn’t downplay the fact that it comes off as super unprofessional. I am incredibly glad that my family was not traveling with me. NEVER EVER STAY HERE!
It appears any time a negative review is posted, MAGICALLY a positive one will appear saying how great everything is. I’m a firm believer that this is being done by friends of people who own this or they are being paid to leave positive reviews in hopes of boosting the...
Read moreThe people giving this hotel anything above a 1/5 stars either work for the hotel, are slightly delusional, or are family and friends of this establishment. I'm sorry, I usually do not write reviews like this one but we did NOT enjoy our stay. The check in process was okay, however upon entering the hotel you can tell the photographs used for promotion are either from when the establishment was FIRST built or mock photos. The elevator is dirty and stinks, the carpet desperately needs refreshing. The hallways and elevators both smell damp and much like a locker room like someone else mentioned. The room set up is cute, however I have no idea if they sanitize or clean the rooms according to COVID-19 standards because there are no indicators of that like other hotels (e.g. the Clorox/Lysol stickers placed on the outside of doors or remotes to let guests know they've been cleaned). Luckily I always bring my own Lysol and wipes but something to keep in mind. The room was very hot upon entering, we eventually got it settled to something comfortable but then at night it would get unbearably hot and damp without us touching the thermostat. The linens weren't changed while we were there, and they did not come and collect the trash unless you placed it outside of your room (and didn't give you new bags to replace them so we used our shopping bags we had accumulated). We had to call and ask for fresh towels and we had to go to the front desk to get them ourselves and were met with attitudes just for asking for fresh ones. We had to ask for new toilet paper. The bed is very hard and the pillows are so flat you may catch a cramp in your neck. The couch appeared very damp and dirty? When my gf sat on it she immediately became itchy (ew) so we couldn't use it the whole stay. The side doors, that appear very convenient in the parking lot, stopped working after the first night but they did not put a sign up to indicate it didn't work so you had to park, try it, and then walk around to the front in the hot North Carolina heat. The amenities are cool in theory, the pool stays open until 10, there is a basketball court and nice outdoor seating area. The fitness room stays open 24/7 (although very small) and the breakfast was okay (had things like eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast, waffles, etc.). Ultimately though, those amenities do nothing to compensate for the rooms and...
Read moreI don’t do reviews much but taking time bc this was one of worst hotel stays ever (& I am am on road more than home)
Hyatt should come do a quality control check. Not a good representation of the Hyatt name/brand. Seems to be lack of management & training. Flew in & no one answered phone for over an hour to pick us up from airport. (You have to call hotel for shuttle, it does not just automatically go around airport. We had no checked bags & started calling once we got off the plane.) I even sent a text in the Hyatt app and I’m still waiting for an answer almost 12 hours later. I called the globalist line for help curbside. She kept calling hotel. We finally jumped in cab (had to wait longer bc there weren’t any taxis).
Drove all the way to hotel (while still on hold) & 2 people checked in front of me and globalist rep was still on hold trying to get through. I even asked front desk rep when I entered hotel if her phone was muted/off the hook and she said no. Rep finally picked up the phone & globalist rep told her I was waiting/we all have been calling. Front desk rep told me no one had been calling. That was the 1st call she received. That it’s not their fault if no one called, how can they be responsible?? (Are you kidding me??)
No comp bottled waters - literally only 1 bottle of water in the refrig to buy and barely a few other drinks (redbull, Starbucks cold drinks, Squirt, handful of gatorades.)
Rooms dated/old…carpet in hall disgusting….
Good luck charging anything. Barely any outlets and the outlets they do have are the type built-into the lamps or eat-in counter & plugs fall out.
Staff are all in hoodies/not appropriate attire for working at hotel. Several E-cigs all over the counter… not the best first impressions & sets/confirms the tone for experience you will have.
Planned on catching 6 am shuttle back to the airport this morning…went to checkout & asked for shuttle and it was not ready. They had to pull it out and warm it up. Travel is already stressful enough, we don’t need them adding to it.
Nothing like long day of Int’l travel with another person & a service animal and then not being able to easily get to hotel. Had to be up very early to catch flight. (Only at hotel for about 8 hrs for extended layover).
(to be fair, lady at the front desk checking us out this morning was very nice and seemed to know what was...
