First off, I'd like to say I write both good and bad reviews. I often reflect and read other reviews so I like to take the time to write about both my pleasant and unpleasant experiences. This post will be about an extremely unpleasant experience I had when eating out with my husband.
I found out about Chubz on a Groupon deal. I don't use groupon often but decided to try something different. Chubz is located in a small shopping plaza. As soon as we entered the restaurant, there was a short line however the wait to be helped was approximately 20 minutes. Once it was our turn, I ordered 2 Number #12 and attempted to use the 2 Groupons I had purchased. I was informed that I could only use one. (really important to always read the small print). I wasn't upset that I couldn't use it however the tone and demeanor of the guy, who is also the owner, was so rude. He asked me if I could read as the small print says it's limited to one per group. I asked if we could just split the transactions. I'm not from Charlotte area so I didnt want to waste the coupon however I was apalled by the owner's behavior because he again proceeded to ask me if I could read. Extremely rude. I passed the coupon to the lady waiting behind me and continued to order. At that time, the owner had to instruct the cookers of what we ordered. He was yelling at one gentleman in particular on how to prepare the food. He also cussed at the way he made a hot dog and everyone in the restaurant looked by. The chef/cook was an African American male and he continued to belittle him and the way he prepared the food. If we hadn't already paid and were so hungry, we would have left because the way he was treating this gentleman was appalling.
We waited approximately 10 - 15 minutes for our food and at this time, the lady behind us finally ordered and attempted to use the groupon coupon. He then yelled at the top of his lungs stating that she couldn't use the coupon and made a big scene in the restaurant. She waited in total for about 25 minutes just to be served and then for him to treat her with such disrespect made me question how this place even survives. She was also with a male companion that had previously ordered and he started yelling at him as she stood up for his female friend.
Overall, the food was mediocre but the worse customer service experience I've ever had in my life. I was disappointed at myself for even giving this establishment any of my money. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you want poor and disrespectful customer service and...
Read moreThe best burgers and chili in Charlotte are right here. The owner really takes pride in his recipes and the quality of the food. The main cook, Mitch, makes everything to perfection and is the nicest person I've had the pleasure of meeting. I've been there right before closing when I'm done with work, which unfortunately is 6 pm, but he is happy to still take ya, letting you enjoy your meal while he cleans up. The place is older, but I've witnessed their cleaning routine on several occasions now, and that gives me peace of mind that you don't get at most restaurants. I usually take pictures of what I order, but I'm always looking forward to eating and dig in before I think about it. Fresh ground beef on a flattop like burgers should be made, and the best chili cheese fries. I can never decide between a burger and chili dog so I get the #4 so I can have both. My co-worker swears by her go-to, the patty melt, which is so huge she has to take half home. The prices are also so reasonable considering the costs rising everywhere.
If you go later in the day, unfortunately you have to witness the transients loitering about outside bc it's near a hotel and strip club, so that's literally the only downside. However, the guys closing up always make sure we're safe when we leave, and the food is so worth it! This place is the only food that I actually crave and choose as my...

I just loved Chubz Chilliburguers. For me. The best burgers in Charlotte region.
The place has personality. It has Spirit. I really felt like I was about to experience a genuine take on food, something particular to the Place.
Nowadays you go into places and people are cold, almost like it is being run by AI robots. People who do not like to be where they are. Doing things they don't like to do.
For me, it was an awesome experience. Not only because the nice fellow which I don't know the name yet brought me my food himself, saying it was because he liked me better then the full table of regular clients, making everyone smile and laugh.
But the care he employs to the food. Trying always to make sure everyone has the full taste experience. Not only with me. But other clients getting takeouts, they spent time in making sure they got the seasoning on the fries before leaving and things like that.
I will become a regular, for sure!
If you are the fancy type, who likes quiet, dead places or candle light romantic spots to eat. This is not your place.
If you seek the Best burger. No frills, exceptional taste and authentic loud(in a very good way) ambience. ...
