Zodiac Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Charlotte

So this was my first time here and I am going to definitely give an honest and fair review, as I do all establishments. I went on Saturday November 16th for R&B night. Loved loved loved the dj. I also loved the atmosphere too. Overall the establishment seemed clean. I didn't use the bathroom when I was there so I don't know about that. I like the fact that you can get a table and you don't have to pay for it. You just have to purchase food and drinks which we did. Our server was new so she was super slow. However, very friendly and trying her best. We went to the bar for a lot of our drinks. There was a young lady there who said she was a new bartender and I loved her. She had the best attitude, very attentive and made drinks fast! 10/10!

I ordered lamb chops, green beans and mashed potatoes. Food took awhile to come out, 45 min-an hr, which the server warned me about so I wasn't pressed. Food was lukewarm and lamb chops were small. No biggie. I still ate it. Seasoning was good.

My major and only real irritation was how they swiped my card twice for something I told them went through. I was angry about that. So my bank noticed I was swiping a lot at one location and asked me for approval for one of the transactions. I showed the server that I was approving the transaction, and yet she said it was still showing declined on her end (which she showed me). I politely told her if she swiped my card again more money was going to come out. She grabbed another woman to assist and the woman told me it shows pending in my bank but declined on their end so if I want my stuff I have to swipe again ($58). I was livid, but wanted my drinks so I just swiped my card again and was essentially charged double and will have to call my bank.

Not sure if they accept cash but if you could bring cash that would be better. I don't like my card being swiped continuously. What if I didn't have the money? Also, 16% gratuity added to anything you purchase. Be mindful of that. Whether service is good or bad. Other than that, it was...

They had me at a 5 until the end of my night! My bestie & I walked into this place after getting tattoos looking for a drink & something to eat! We stood at the bar for a moment & the first bar tender was AMAZING, beautiful young chocolate lady with two top ponytails baby was handling her way around that bar with everyone needing her attention. After our 2nd drink & waiting on food we went up to the high top! Our next server was polite and sweet, checked on us took another drink order as we enjoyed our food. The only downside is when our food came up we had to go get it from the bar, but it’s cool! We were about to leave & I said let me have one more Don Julio & Pineapple, from where I am sitting I can see the entire bar and what is going on, the bar tender that made my drink this time was short small girl with the Bob! Nonetheless I watched her as she pour Tito’s first the pineapple and set it to the side, I watched our server go and get the drink and when she brought it to me I immediately said I watched her make this drink and she used Tito’s mind you I drink Tito’s too so I definitely know the difference between Vodka and Tequila let alone I watched you do it. The bar tender takes my drink back down there and I can see them going back and forth about it to the point the manager after 15 mins of me waiting comes to make my drink! Not only am I pissed at this point but the manager makes my drink but only A 1/3rd of a normal drink! Barely any liquor in it because she kept holding the bottle upside down like it was going to pour more liquor. Then the server brought it over like I watched her make HELL me too! Me and bae had our date night out and heard this was a great place so we wanted to try it out. Well best believe we had The worse service ever!!!. You can not get me to ever recommend this place. For starters the hostess was nice. I give that a thumbs up. For the waiters…. y'all walked past us multiple times as we were sitting there and did not acknowledge or look in our direction to say anything or I’ll be with u… we sat there for 20 min before I had to flag down the hostess to get our drink order. Then we waited another 15 min before a I had to flag down a waiter came over to take our food order. Finally, I got the blackened salmon with candied yams and the boyfriend got lamb chops with Mac. I would say I was disappointed with the price and you only get 1 SIDE. But nevertheless, I saw that there was 15% gratuity added to all orders. But what put the icing on the cake was that we had to pay for our food first before it came out. I mean I never in my life heard of that. So anyway it took another 25 to 30 min for our food to come out. They give you a big plate for a bowl side to sit in with your entree beside it… ridiculous but anyway so I got my salmon thinking it would be juicy. It was dry with no lemon or buttery taste. The candied yam were yams out a CAN literally. Don’t let that wording fool ya bc I was. The baby lamb chops where aight n Mac was only think that came out smoking. We did not see our waiter again Until we were packing up ready to leave. When alo never got asked if we wanted drink refills or how was your food after we got it. Also not to mention the price on IG were not the prices on the menu either. So yeah for our $72 dollars I felt like we had appetizers bc by time we drove 2 hour back home we were hungry again.
