Showed up at 8am (the time they advertise as open) and waited for 15-20 minutes and there wasn’t anyone there, it was completely closed. Waited in the parking lot. Ultimately, we left. Never been to a coffee shop that opens 15-20 minutes after the time set on their socials and maps. This is all considering last weekend, we went in for the grand opening & the coffee was subpar at best. After so much social media advertising, we were excited to try their seasonal flavors that seemed delicious…or so it seemed, we still don’t know how they taste since by noon, they were out of all of the house made syrups, and the only ones left were the ones you’d find at a chain coffee shop. We thought “OK it’s grand opening and busy, maybe that’s why?” The place is cute, so we thought, “let’s try again.” Yesterday was the attempt at giving them another chance and we all woke up early to be meet there at 8AM, yet as I mentioned previously, they were closed. After waiting 15-20 minutes, we all had to up and leave to find somewhere else to spend our morning. This was very inconvenient. It was such a bummer because all we see is raging reviews of the coffee on our socials, yet now I’m wondering if these are sponsored in some way. Really was expecting so much from them as the first morning to night coffee shop in Charlotte so I hope they can fix whatever is going on. I understand that the opening phase is difficult, but the lack of professionalism in not opening on time and inability to meet the expectations they themselves set by promoting their housemade flavors, has left a bitter taste. I also sent a message to their instagram detailing what had happened, and they read the message but did not acknowledge or reply. Hence why I’m here leaving this review on Google. I hope in the future to give it another try but may just need to wait some time until I feel inclined to do so. Well wishes and hope that these issues are able to be smoothed out for the benefit of your...
Read moreIn a city like Charlotte that’s still trying to find its true identity, spaces and businesses like Daily Ritual Coffee provide just the right amount of nudging in that direction—by being a place replete with character.
We have visited here multiple times, once for coffees and on the other occasion for getting drinks. The Ritual coffee, with just the right amount of cinnamon and the dash of cinnamon is my favorite. It makes you believe in the transformative power of coffee. Another star that we’ve tried is the Baklava Latte—a creative take on Baklava—blending it with pistachio and creating a drink that invigorates your senses.
They also boast of a stellar collection of IPAs, beers, ciders and wines. The staff is quite helpful and welcoming, and is ready to help you out if you need help. They once recommended Maine Lunch IPA to me—it is quickly becoming my favorite—just the right amount of kick to it without being too hoppy.
It’s hard not to notice to design of the interior as well. The efficient use of the space with items to peruse while still accommodating sufficient number of tables for seating is indeed a work of art. It feels just right whether you’re there for getting some work done or catching up with friends.
Daily Ritual brings back the lost art of creative cafés that feel like a second home in the community of people who have a fine taste for such spaces. I’m glad Charlotte has such a business.
I’ll be back to try their sandwiches and other items.
It’s located conveniently on Central Avenue. Two Scoops Icecream is located...
Read moreMy husband and I were in town for a day before we made our drive back to Virginia. Him knowing how much I love local coffee shops and supporting small businesses, he took me to The Daily Ritual. Right off the bat when you walk into this “feel-good,” shop we were greeted by the owner with a warm welcome! He was very nice and easy to talk too, in a sense it made you feel like a regular even if it was your first time there. He recommended two coffees, The Ritual and the Vanilla Bean Lattes. I, being a cinnamon lover, got the Cinnabon Latte with no moo milk (had almond milk!) and my husband got The Ritual. I would have never thought to put cardamon in coffee until trying The Ritual and I will definitely have to say, you have to give this coffee a try! Both coffees were delicious and warmed us up both perfectly on this cold day. We also ended up having the Croissant Caprese which tasted just like you were eating a Caprese but with bread!
Highly recommend stopping by this cozy shop. Coffee was great, food was great, atmosphere inviting but most of all the owner was so welcoming...
