Until tonight, my husband and I were avid Duckworth’s fans. We’ve been to every single location numerous times in the last 7 years. Before the pandemic, we went so often and spent so much money that we had a ton of points in their beer club. However, after tonight’s experience, we probably won’t step foot in a Duckworth’s again. Tonight we tried to have a nice family dinner at the Rea Farms location at 5pm. It wasn’t empty, but it definitely wasn’t super crowded either. We brought our 14 month old with us, so we asked to sit outside for a better ambiance. When we spoke to the host and asked for outside seating, the manager told us he didn’t know if they had seating available outside…even though we walked past 4 or 5 open tables on our way into the restaurant. He also said something about how people like to go out there and drink and camp out for hours. I asked how long of a wait it would be to be seated out there. Then a host took us to a table. We sat there for 15 minutes and not a single staff person acknowledged us. However, while we were sitting there waiting, 2 different waitresses and the manager walked right past us to check on other tables who were seated after us numerous times. It seemed like we were being ignored to show preference to larger groups or individuals who were partaking in the “drinking and camping out for hours” as the manager mentioned before. Overall, it really felt like we just didn’t fit their perceived target audience since they didn’t want to seat us in the first place. After 15 minutes, we informed the host we were leaving due to lack of service. We walked right into the Improper Pig right down the street and it was just as busy, but they treated us so much better. We are so disappointed in Duckworth’s and will no longer be recommending it to anyone from this point forward. Anybody who has kids knows the ordeal it is to go out like this, so to be treated so poorly and then have to risk a toddler meltdown to pack everything up and go on to the next place is simply unacceptable. It seems like it really all boils down to poor management and discriminatory waitresses because this was such an odd experience compared to all the other positive experiences we’ve had at Duckworth’s through the years. We understand that everywhere is struggling to keep enough staff right now. If someone would have just spoken to us and told us they would be right with us, we would have graciously understood. But everybody, including the manager, just kept walking right past us, as if we...
Read moreI have been to Duckworth’s by South Park numerous times and have never had an issue. It has always been great food, greats drinks, and all around a great time.
Tonight was the first time I’ve ever been to this location. A group of us decided to celebrate the end of our Tennis season at Duckworth’s, with it being right across the street from Lifetime, it was a no brainer. My first choice is always Little Mama’s, but we settled of Duckworths since they are open later and the majority of the group have had good experiences with other Duckworth’s Locations.
This review has nothing to do with the overall atmosphere, the drinks, the server, or the food. This entire 1 start review for the MOD, Eric Warner. He was ridiculously rude to our table of 12. We spent over $500 in less than 2 hours of mainly drinks and some food. He came over to our table with the most ridiculous facial expression, arms crossed telling us they have received complaints that we were being too loud….in an establishment that considers itself a bar….with 28 flatscreen TV’s….on a Tuesday night at 10:00pm. We had several patrons from other tables come join us in our celebrations when Eric Warner walked over and told us we were being too loud and when those other patrons asked if he was serious, he doubled down and told us very rudely that we were being loud. The other patrons were in more disbelief than us, asking how it can be loud when he was here a few days ago and it was even louder.
Eric Warner scolded our table like we were 5 year old kids. Had he approached us in a calmer manner asking us to quiet down, we would have gladly done so. Even though the majority of us had been to Duckworth’s where the atmosphere has been much much rowdier.
We then asked Eric for the general manager’s information, he first told us, he isn’t allowed to give that information out. Then I pointed out that the general manager’s information is public knowledge, he can’t hide that information, he then tried to argue and say we asked for the owners information and not the General Manager’s information. After some back and forth, we finally got him to give us Steven Brown, the general manager’s information. And after that, his attitude quickly changed.
But at that point it was too late. None of us will be returning to this establishment and we will be letting all our Lifetime friends know, Hickory Tavern is a much better choice for drinks...
Read moreThis evening, January 14, 2023, my family attempted an online order from the Rea Farms location. According to the website, the order would take approximately 3 hours to be ready, so we called it in instead. Odd, but no problem. On the phone, they asked specific questions about the order, and we gave specific answers. I specifically asked for 3 sauces with my order, one of which was just a standard sauce that comes with the order. I picked up the order and drove all the way back home just to find out that all of the sauces I purchased were not actually given to me. I thought, “Great! I love spending my Saturday nights driving back and forth from Duckworth’s.” It’s about 20 minutes there and back, plus whatever wait time is included. But since my entree depended specifically on the sauces, it wasn’t something that I could just go without. So, I drove all the way back. I called their phone off the hook. Nobody answered - from 7:30 - 7:40 pm on a Saturday night, which was surprising to me. I was pulling up to the restaurant when a hostess finally answered. I told her about the situation. After walking inside, I obviously waited longer given the fact that they will leave the phone ringing for up to 10 minutes on a Saturday night. I note in this review that I specifically asked for the things that were left out as the hostess suggested that I need to specifically ask for those items because they’re not normally included, which I obviously knew as I asked for those items and paid for them. I assumed she wasn’t to blame though so I brushed it off. After getting back home, my wife told me they also left items out of her salad that they specifically asked about, and she specifically told them she wanted included. I felt bad about myself, because I always leave great tips for takeout orders which don’t require a lot of work, and then this happens. I felt like I voluntarily tipped someone very well for doing a very poor job, and they’ll probably never know about it. The food was good. This review has nothing to do with the quality of the food, except for the fact that they didn’t include what we asked and paid for. I got take-out because I didn’t have time to cook, and I ended up spending the same amount of time driving back and forth from Duckworth’s. Super disappointing, and a huge...
