Let's start off with the good stuff. Beautiful restaurant, clean, and some staff members were really nice and pleasant ... but not my server. :) When my server went MIA, another staff member refilled my water when they noticed my glass was empty.
I stopped by for lunch on a beautiful Friday afternoon at 1:00. There weren't many people in the restaurant, which should have been a huge red flag. I was on the clock, so I did not partake of a margarita. Although, I have heard horror stories of (literally) $54 margaritas at their Rock Hill and Fort Mill restaurants, so I probably would have passed anyway out of extreme caution. This was my first time at any Margaritas location.
I was seated right away with chips and salsa. The salsa was great! Although, I am a salsa wimp and love it mild, so it may be too mild for others. :) As other reviews have mentioned, there is basically no salt on the chips whatsoever and no salt shaker on the table. I took it as a sign from the Universe that I didn't need extra salt and didn't ask for any salt. :)
The waitress came by to take my drink order. After asking for just a glass of water, she did not return for my food order for another 10 minutes. Again, the restaurant was not busy at all. My menu was folded and on the corner of the table for 9 of those 10 minutes.
I ordered the Hawaiian quesadilla with chicken, with the guac salad and refried beans as sides. The food arrived fairly quickly, but it was the Hawaiian chicken fajitas (which was NOT sizzling, by the way, and $6 extra). My sides were correct.
I told her I had ordered the Hawaiian quesadilla, not the fajitas. She asked me, "Are you sure?" "Um, yeah, I'm sure." It seemed like there was a little pressure on me to keep the quiet fajitas she had brought out. She finally took it back and returned with the quesadilla.
Okay. I always put my guac salad on top of my quesadilla. That's just my thang. All I could taste was the guac salad, which that was fresh and excellent, but I could not taste the quesadilla.
I pulled out the chicken to sample it separately. Nothing. No seasoning. No "grilled" taste. No nothing. Hardly any veggies. I peeked into my "Hawaiian" quesadilla, and I had literally three baby pieces of pineapple. So basically, I paid $13.99 for guac salad, refried beans, and chips and salsa.
So while the environment is really cool, personally, I'm taking a hard pass on the whole chain of Margaritas Mexican restaurants. While this was my first visit to this local brand of restaurants, my guard was already up in case they had the same issues as the Rock Hill and Fort Mill restaurants.
I truly went in with an open mind because I had absolutely no feedback about this particular restaurant location. After my personal experience, it doesn't seem like a...
Read moreI'm giving this Margaritas 2 stars and here's why.
There wasn't much organization going on up front when you walk in. It felt like we were kinda in the way of everything and this could have been due to dinner rush. It didn't take long to be seated, which is good. After we were seated was a different story.
Our waitress didn't hear us when we're said we were ready to order...instead she said ok and walked away. Second time around we ordered drinks but walked away to put in drink order in the middle of us ordering food. Ok, third go around we were finally able to order food!
I ordered the Carnitas with Mexican Rice and Black Beans and my lady ordered Pollo De Cremea with Refried Beans and Mexican Rice with Mexican Street Corn for an appetizer. For little miss she wanted a Quesadilla.
The food selection was not to our liking to say the least. The Carnitas tasted like they didn't have much seasoning and were a little burnt when they came out. The Pollo De Cremea was not appetizing at all. The cheese was clumped on the chicken and it was not a little hardened. Our waitress forgot the Mexican Street Corn, so we had to wait to get that towards the end of our meal.
We also ordered drinks. How can you visit Margaritas and not have a Margarita! I had the Red Bull Margarita and she had the Malibu Punch. Couldn't taste much alcohol in those drinks more like watered down Margaritas, than anything.
I couldn't give this place a one star because this visit was on convenience. It was close...we wanted Mexican and we thought busy, meant this place must have some good food. Maybe we'll try them again when they aren't as busy next time or try a different...
Read moreWe ordered food from Margaritas through Uber Eats and had a horrible experience with Uber eats but a wonderful experience with the restaurant. Only one of our two bags, half of our food - was delivered with Uber eats, missing was the other half of our food, two full entrées as well as 10 sides! I contacted customer service for Uber eats and was only refunded $2 of our $138 meal because of this error! Uber eats was impossible to work with and wouldn’t budge on the two dollars that they refunded. So I went and spoke with the very kind manager at margaritas and explained the situation, and despite knowing whether it was the fault of her restaurant only sending one bag, which was very doubtful or the Uber eats person forgetting to pick up a bag or even possibly keeping one bag of our food, she graciously immediately prepared two full entrées with sides to make up for the error. And the food was absolutely delicious! The chips were crisp and fresh, the fajita steak and chicken had amazing flavor and prepared just right with very tender meat. The sides were plentiful and fresh and flavorful!!
Despite Uber eats having horrible customer service and delivery, Margaritas has earned a customer for life!!!!! Although I will be picking it up on my own now instead of utilizing Uber eats service, or lack thereof. I will be telling everyone about how great this restaurant is and about the amazing customer service. A+...
