If you're willing to wait 40 minutes to receive improperly made subs and a side of limp, soggy fries, then flock right in to Penn Station to stand and watch paint dry while you await your order to be completed.
Came in on a Monday night. 2 or 3 orders ahead of me. As the minutes ticked by I recalled that this is why we hadn't ordered from them in quite a while, but- it was too late now.
Finally got home with the food to see that my son's sub was covered in mayo as well as additional toppings we requested be left off. I drove back in a complete downpour and requested that they fix the improperly made sub. I was told that it would be 5 minutes or so before they could get to me. For whatever reason there was 1 person making the food, and another, apparently completely new guy that didn't appear to know how to do anything yet, and no one else.
After waiting about 10 minutes, I left and went to Jimmy John's- who cranked out my order in literally 2 minutes. Good thing I went there too because on the way, my husband called to inform me that a second sub, which was ordered without mayo was instead overflowing with it. Not just a smear on the sub roll- every item on the sub was coated in mayonnaise.
So after an initial 40 minute wait, a second drive to their location, waiting 10 more minutes, 2 items made incorrectly, a tub of disgusting, limp fries, and 20 more dollars spent elsewhere due to their incompetence, it's safe to say that I will never return to Penn Station again and will be seeking a full refund of my hard...
Read moreBackstory: I waited to try a philly cheesesteak until I was able to go to Philadelphia to get one which wasn't until 2013. It was worth the wait. Since, I have made it my business to try phillys at any restaurant that sells them. Penn Station has the closest to the real thing in Charlotte that I have had. Yes it could use more meat and the bread should be seasoned with the meat juices but the flavor is spot on. It has the peppers and onions and mushrooms and all the condiments. This was hubbys sub and he was mad bc I kept eating his. I had the chicken parm. I give it a 'C' for effort. It's just chunks of chicken breast drenched in pizza sauce and then cheese. It's not breaded and fried like chicken parm usually is. It's not screaming to me chicken parm instead it scream pizza sauce with chicken chunks. There is absolutely no flavor other than pizza sauce. I was disappointed with this sub. Then my favorite came the french fries. They seemed fresh kinda like that guy restaurant that has five in the name. I enjoyed the fries and hubbys sub. I will try it again because unless it's just bad everyone gets a...
Read moreI ordered my food around 7:30. I got an estimate on the time via email via google. Time estimated to be 8:19 pm. I go in right before. I was greeted and then a nice young lady asked me for the name on the order. She advised it wasn’t ready. They seemed to be short staffed and there were a few other customers were dining in. Wasn’t in a rush so I sat there for 10 mins. Still not done. I went across the way to Harris teeter to get gas and come back. By the time I get gas maybe 30 mins later the store was empty and I was able to get the food. Both sandwiches were veggie sandwich’s one with mushroom the other was night. I get all the way home and begin to eat as I unwrapped my sandwich the first thing i notice are mushrooms. I am ALLERGIC TO MUSHROOMS. I had to call the store let them know my order was completely wrong. I drove all the way and I to the store her a replacement and it was still wrong I asked for green peppers and for red peppers. Everything was supposed to be fresh not grilled. Really disappointed in this experience and I like Penn Station a lot. Not...
