We were overall shocked at our experience and personally felt racially profiled. If you’re mid 30’s and white, watch out for this location. We have always enjoyed Firstwatch until we went to Ballantyne. We went online to join the waitlist. Arrived and checked in 15 minutes after doing so. The time given online was 5-15 minutes. After checking in we noticed 4 other parties that did not join the online waitlist get seated before us. After the 4th we walked up and asked the white associate where we were on the list. She said you should have already been seated, she looked confused and ask the black hostess why we weren’t seated yet. No explanation and seemed irritated we would even ask! She sat us at this time. Our server was okay, she did the minimum to serve. She did not write down the order and we specifically asked for no tomatoes in our tacos. They came out full of tomatoes…Potatoes were not cooked fully, bacon was overcooked. Just little jabs we noticed throughout the whole experience. We were extremely nice and didn’t make a comment on the food and just ate….Meanwhile I noticed multiple tables around us with black families and friends gathering to eat being treated much differently and asked if there was anything they needed and brought to go cups. We wrapped up our meal and paid cash. We had to go to the kitchen to get a to go cup as our server was no where in sight....
Read moreSo I rarely leave poor reviews. Especially for ones in my neighborhood. But maybe I’m the anomaly and experienced a less than thrilling experience here. First off it took almost ten minutes for a sever to come to our table. Not a great feeling seeing everyone else getting served and tended to. They were not packed or busy, no reason we should have had to wait that long. Secondly, they say the orange juice is “fresh squeezed” however I think they’re making it seem THEY are the ones squeezing it to order or it’s fresh to order. The orange juice may have been fresh at one point, but if you’ve ever had freshly squeezed orange juice it is a richer deeper orange before it oxidizes. This looked like orange juice from a container and tasted as such. Third, the food was just not memorable. It was bland, the brioche bun tasted like a hamburger bun, the chickichanga should have been packed with flavor and it just fell short. I truly hope this review helps others, I just don’t know how it could be so bad all at once. Never again. Unfortunately there are too many great breakfast places nearby that offer freshly squeezed orange juice and don’t lie about when it was made and much better...
Read moreI love First Watch! Today, it was subar at best. No wait for table, which was nice. I came in seated by a nice new hostess who had been there 3 days. Waited 5 minutes with no service. I tracked the hostess down, she apologized and went and let them know. I got water from the waitress and tipped the cup above the carafe, waitress was suppose to bring another one. Must have forgot. I had to track the hostess, she apologized again and went and got me a cup. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash and a Monterey Turkey Sandwich for my birthday offer. Waitress delivered my food. Asked if there was anything else she could get. The farmhouse hash potatoes completely overcooked and burned under the eggs….tomatoes mashed to a point they were just there. Avocado under the toast bad. The bacon pieces were burned, some charred black. The toast and eggs were good. I just couldn’t get past the burnt potatoes and bacon. I ate what I could and just asked for to go cartons. Did get a bag at checkout. Normally, I go to Providence location. I wanted to try this location since I live in Ballantyne. I so hoped it would be better. Restaurant was...
