I've ordered delivery a few times and its been....mediocre at best. Every single time. Today's order just sucked and its my last straw. Every dish we ordered has the same taste. I've ordered Lo Mein in the past and its always either chewy or soggy. I've ordered General Tso's chicken and it never fails to be so hard that its inedible and all fried breading with very little chicken.
The great reviews must be from the owners or their friends and family because this place is not Chinese food...it doesn't even pass for American Chinese food. They don't even get the basic staples right. Unfortunately, they are also one of the few places that deliver in the University area. Don't waste your money. Go someplace else. I had yet to find another Chinese place...deliver and/or takeout that doesn't suck in the University area.
If you want appetizer items, you will be fine. The egg rolls, and wontons, and donuts are always okay but trust me and just find somewhere else. I won't be ordering from this...
Read moreI ordered two eggs rolls today at approximately 345pm. A female clerk took my order. I paid for my order immediately. The female clerk was behind the counter eating grapes. As she bit into each grape she spit seeds into the palm of her hands, then discarded them into the trash can behind the counter. Another co-worker of hers was sitting out in the dining area on his phone. Once my egg rolls were ready to be packaged...he entered the cooking area and packaged my order. He did not wash or sanitized his hands. I refused my order and requested a refund of $2.75. Now, The female called me CRAZY and stated "something is wrong with this guy". A worker from the kitchen came to the front counter. He gained control of the situation. I advised them that I would call DHEC. The female insisted that I contact them. I managed the get my refund of $2.75 and $1.07 for a small tea that I purchased. I left without further incident. I will not patronize The Golden Coast...
Read moreThe food was okay but the customer service was horrible. I called for delivery, I had three separate orders. After I ordered, I asked the lady what was the total price of the orders she told me "It's too busy right now, I can't tell you." So after 3mins I called back to get the price and I asked her if I could I change one of the orders. She said it was too late to change the order but I could add on to the order. I told her that I needed to change the order and if she would've gave me the price from the beginning it wouldn't have been a problem. She hung up the phone on me and cancelled the entire order. I didn't know that she cancelled the order until 55mins later when I called back up there to see where the order was. But a guy answered the phone and was nice enough to redo my order. If I was getting food for myself I wouldn't have cared. I would've went somewhere but I doubt if I will order from...
