Hi-Wire Brewing are the new kids on the block and South End definitely welcomes them with open arms, wallets, and mouths (Hahaha)! Hi-Wire is located on the corner of Tremont & South Tryon; right beside Benny Ferrovia's/Three30Five Apartments and across the street from The Penrose.
Hi-Wire Brewing offers plenty of space inside and outside (in the front and back). The brewery is both pet and kid friendly. The outside (front) facing Tremont has outside tables; the inside has bench-style seating/long tables and gives me a cafeteria hall vibe; the outside (back) has similar seating as the front but upper covering for protection from the elements. The inside walls are very well decorated with custom artwork. I am not really fond of how open it is because all of the noise is gravitated in one big box and the sounds echoes everywhere. It's great for big groups but if you want to go solo, you may not be too keen of the ambience.
The beer selection ranges from American lagers, Brown Ales, American IPAs, Hazy IPAs, Seltzers, Sours, and many other styles, so they have something for every kind of palette of 'boozenthusiasts'. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about their selections which makes for a smashing experience. Hi-Wire Brewing does have a 'merch-section' for you to leave with a piece of them; hats, shirts, hoodies, glasses, etc...also, BEER-TO-GO.
I don't think they have food there, but it's right next door to Benny Ferrovia (Pizza joint) and down the street from many other great establishments with delectable eats.
All in all, I would definitely recommend Hi-Wire Brewing to my family, friends, and fellow YELPERS & Reviewers. Everyone should indubitably check them out and give them a chance; it's worth it! ;-)
Cheers MATE$! ...:::...
Read moreCame in on the 21st evening with my husband to have a couple of beers and play some games. We had one beer, played a game then went up to the bar to get a second and had an incredibly rude encounter with the bartender. My husband wanted to get his id back from the bartender bc we used it as collateral to get the equipment for a game and another patron wanted to put his id down to hold the game. I saw that this flustered the bartender and she got short with my husband and the other patron when they were trying to switch out whose card was to hold the equipment and my husband tried to apologize because clearly she was flustered and asked if there was something he did to upset her and she said “do not talk to me like that sir”. I was standing right there and he in no way patronized her or “mansplained”anything like she was trying to make it seem. This put a poor taste in my mouth that she was so extremely rude to him for no reason. Decided not to get another beer and will not come back to this establishment. Plenty of other great spots to drink at where staff isn’t assumptive and rude. I’ve worked in the service industry for a long time and I was shocked at...
Read moreHi-Wire is a craft brewery located in Charlotte, NC, with a large indoor seating area and a couple of ping pong tables. They also have an outdoor patio with covered & uncovered seating. They had a selection of at least 16 different craft brews so something for everyone. They don’t sell food but you can order pizza next door or have something delivered. They have free, limited off-street parking that’s shared with a few other businesses. The available free parking is was what enticed us for a quick stop here. Parking lots near several other breweries were charging $12-$25 for up to 3 hours of parking but we only had an hour to kill so quickly checking out those breweries weren’t worth the additional cost. We liked the two Hi-Wire beers that we tried; an IPA and a dark ale. The lady bartender was very polite and helpful with suggestions. The bathrooms were clean. The majority of their patrons appeared to be under 40. It was a positive experience and I would go back. Only 4 stars due to the location as my preference to enjoy beers is in a more relaxed area and not looking at a parking...
