Dear Ink Ivy Team,
Having had a long day, we were looking forward to a laid-back evening filled with good food and watching the game. Upon our arrival, we were informed that there would be a wait of about 20 minutes for seating. While we ended up waiting longer than expected, we appreciated the restaurant's ambiance and decided to stay.
Regrettably, our experience took a downturn once we were seated. Our server, who had a lip piercing, seemed rushed and unengaged, which gave off a rather rude vibe. We unfortunately did not catch her name. We ordered several appetizers and our main courses, but the food came out in a staggered manner, making it difficult to fully enjoy the meal together.
Additionally, we encountered an issue with one of our appetizers, which we couldn't address directly with our server as she disappeared. Instead, we had to call someone else over to handle it for us. After resolving that, we placed an order for another round of drinks but were disappointed when they did not arrive even after a 20-minute wait. We ended up having to reorder again with our server.
While we initially gave our server the benefit of the doubt, thinking she might have been overwhelmed with a busy shift, our experience unfortunately did not improve. After reordering our drinks, they still did not arrive. Our two children also requested refills, which were never addressed.
To our surprise, we noticed that this server was given a $54 tip based on guaranteed gratuity, which seemed disproportionate given the level of service we received. Had she engaged more efficiently and kept our orders flowing, we felt she could have earned a higher tip.
Additionally, she did not offer us to-go boxes, which we would have appreciated. We left the restaurant feeling disappointed, wishing we could have given our business to a more deserving server.
On a positive note, the bouncer was very polite and expressed his apologies for the poor service we experienced. He kindly offered to get a manager for us, but we were already leaving and politely declined.
I wanted to bring this to your attention so that potential customers are aware of the variability in service.
We hope this feedback is helpful, as we believe that with some attention to service, Ink Ivy could truly enhance the dining experience for its patrons. Thank you for taking the time to consider our...
Read moreI have been a very loyal customer to this place for the past year and a half; however, I will no longer be returning due to their terrible customer service. On Saturday 9/7/19, my friends and I decided to all meet up at Ink n Ivy like we usually do, we always order the bottle of champagne since they have a $15 special on Saturday and Sundays. For some reason this weekend our server Krystal gave us the bill and we were charged $52 for two bottles of champagne when it should've been $30. We informed her about this wondering if there was a mistake and she tries to fix it and we could see that she was asking other servers and bartenders how to change the price (I think she was new). Later, she gets her manager and they are both on the computer looking like they are trying to adjust the price. Eventually, they both come up to our table letting us know that the bottles of champagne have never been $15 and there is nothing they can do about it. We had a hard time understanding what they were saying since we go there every weekend paying the same price. In fact, we were there the Saturday before and got charged $15 for a bottle. The manager was no help at all and frankly very rude and not willing to listen to the CUSTOMER that has been giving them business for a long time. I am not sure why or how so many servers can get it wrong for the past year and charge us the same price and this weekend the price per bottle increases dramatically. To make matters worse, as were paying for the bill the bouncer comes to ESCORT us out of the building. This whole situation was ridiculous and absolutely disappointing since we all loved this...
Read moreMan, I used to like this place. We frequently brought clients here for business lunches and the service was great. Not anymore, thanks to manager Sequoia . We called ahead and asked when the patio was open - they told us 4pm. We showed up at 4:15 and told that the patio opens at 5 - not a big deal, but they accused us of lying…. “We never told you 4pm”. Then it got so much worse. There were 6 of us and the server was lovely, we were sitting there ordering apps and drinks the whole first hour. Our company President came to join us so we pulled up a chair on an otherwise empty patio. Within 30 minutes, Sequoia came out, hiding behind the server who told us we had to split up tables. We asked if we can push them together, he refused.
Three members of our party got up and left, the server was very apologetic. About 30 minutes later, the executives from our agency showed up and took the extra 3 seats. They let everyone order food and drinks for about 20 minutes. Then the server comes out basically in tears telling us that she’s no longer allowed to serve our table. The food was brought out right in front of us, and she stopped the food runner, and told him to send it back to the kitchen.
Needless to say, it was humiliating for our company and for the agency clients. Our bill was approaching $300 and they literally took our food from right in front of us. We asked to speak to Sequoia directly and he refused, telling the server that if she serves us anything else, he’d FIRE her.
We’ve never been so disrespected out of nowhere, and I’ve also never felt worse...
