Valhalla has hands down the absolute best pub food in Uptown (Sorry QCBC). The kitchen knows what they are doing and excell with the regular menu and bar experience. The specials are top tier, with John Daily and the team thinking up some of the best soups I've had in my life. Litterially, everything on the menu has been amazing. My go to favorites are the Fish and Chips, Turkey Sandwhich, and Loaded Tots. But let's be honest you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The bar team is always friendly and do their job well. It honestly sucks that they are usually so busy because they are all great to talk to, but hey it's a result of the overall all quality of Valhalla. Catey, James, and Ezra are always a joy to see and are the nicest people in and outside of Valhalla. In short, Valhalla is my go to recommendations for any new Charlottians or anyone visiting the queen city looking for a great spot in Uptown's historic Bevard Court.

First time in here. Pretty happy with the result. We ordered the wings got the Asian and the blueberry bbq both pretty good. Not a huge fan of the Wasabi ranch it just taste like horse reddish.. got the pretzel bites also good and to finish the appetizers we also got the Buffalo chicken dip and I loved it. Entrees included the fish and chips and the meatballs. Fish and chips are def a winner! Cooked nicely and the waffle fries were great to.. the meatballs were also good was just like a Swedish meatball.. the beers were cold and the service was fast and friendly. Beware they are straw free if you order a soft drink they charge $1 for a guava straw lol A little on the small side I can see this place getting crowded quickly butbill def be going back.

This is our favorite place in Charlotte. If we are anywhere near the area we make a side trip to Valhalla. And when we spend a weekend in Charlotte it is our first stop after checking into the hotel. Food is fantastic. I always get the lamb burger. My husband orders off the menu and has never had a bad meal. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu - both food and beer -- and can help you decide if you can't make up your mind. Place isn't fancy, and they pull a big soccer crowd, so be prepared for it to be busy if there is a game. There is a back room and outdoor seating so plenty of space. It is bigger than it looks from outside. if you want great food, at a fair price, served by friendly people this is where you want to be.

Went in today to attempt to order something to-go. After waiting for around 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me, a waitress asked me if I needed help. I said I wanted to order something to go to which she replied "We don't do to-go orders before 2" and then walked off. Didn't ask if I wanted to be seated or if there was anything else she could help with. This piece is important for what happened later.

I walk over to her, since she walked away from me without being at all helpful, and asked if I could be seated then and dine in. She replied "you can sit anywhere you like" in somewhat of an annoyed tone. She clearly had something going on in her life or at work that has caused her to believe its ok to treat paying customers in a less then cordial manner. This is also important to what happened later.

I sit at the only table that was left in the restaurant, it was busy for Friday lunch. She comes over to my table and asks what I want to drink, so I ordered a beer they do not offer, forgetting they didn't carry it, so i changed my drink order and let her know I wanted the buffalo chicken dip for my meal. She goes and places the order, brings my drink and that was the last interaction I had with her until it was time to pay. When I finished my drink I waited, and waited, for her to come to the table so I could ask for my check and a to go box. A woman, who happened to be the manager, noticed that I was getting visibly frustrated, and asked if I needed something, so I said the check and a box. My waitress, who was at the bar at the time and overheard the conversation, said "I got it" to her coworker and brought me both my check and my box. I paid and left.

Now , upset at the treatment I had received, I posted to their Facebook in hopes that they read the feedback and apply it to future patrons. But nope, the manager, Jennifer decided that she needed to input a snarky comment, and stated that I should have mentioned it to her. I would have mentioned it to her had she appeared to be a manager. So immediately after posting her snarky reply she deleted the whole post (I have a screenshot). So I gave them a rating on Facebook, to which Jennifer, the manager, gave a slightly more professional, yet still snarky, reply.

Its unfortunate because I like the food at Valhalla and up until today have never had a bad experience there. But it only takes ONE person to ruin that experience. I can say with full confidence that I cannot out of good conscious recommend this establishment to anyone for lunch service during the week because of...

Went today for the 1st time with 3 other people. The service is super slow. We waited more than 10 mins for drinks, had to walk to the bar and just order our own drinks. When we asked for shots we were told the bartender couldn't make them so we asked what she could make and she brought us 4 shots that cost us 35.00..... we didnt complain about the 10 mins of NOTHING TO DRINK in between each beer we paid our tab. Myself and my lady friend walked outside and the server stoped the 2 men that were with us and she complained that we only left her a 10% tip. The server said we needed to leave a 15 to 20% tip, this put the men in a awkward moment so they told her we waited to long for her to check our table, and she only wanted to server us the highest drinks when we can clearly see what liquor bottles are on the bar wall. This place is a joke as the staff ( at least the server/bartender we had) made this a very unpleasant visit at the end. And to top this off we gave the server a card to start out tab with but when we paid we paid with cash and another card (as there was more than one person paying a 144.00 tab) but I'm guessing the server that was complaining over the 10% tip we left decided to take the rest of her tip off the card we gave them to hold as she charged it for another 10.00.. So if you go there PAY CASH DONT LET THEM...

I had a poor lunch experience here. I ordered a burger, rare-medium rare and waited over 25 minutes to receive my order, which was well done. In the 25 min I waited for my food, no server came to my table to check on me even once, I actually had to go inside to inquire about status of my food (I was seated on the patio). Once I bit into the burger and realized how overcooked it was, no server came back to check on us for over 15 min, so I was left to eat the burger or skip lunch. I ate half the burger, showed it to waitstaff when the finally showed up, and they comped my meal. This was nice, but honestly the only bit of customer service I received (after a long wait, no service, and overcooking my order) during my entire time here. Once the checked was dropped off, ten minutes passed with, again, no one coming by to check on us. For a second time, I had to end up going inside and engaging the staff with my check and card in hand to get the bill paid. My poor experience was not acknowledged by the staff at any time, much less resolved. I arrived at 11:45 am and left at 12:50- near 40 minutes of this hour+ was honestly spent waiting - an unreasonable wait time given I was on my lunch break. I wouldn't recommend this place-the food and customer service quality is poor and there's a wealth of better options in uptown, even in brevard...
