Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams — Restaurant in Charlotte

This is my second time literally coming here. I was here for the first time and it turned out to be a pleasant experience but this time it was disappointing. I had a icecream with 2 different scoops on it. This time I didn't get a Waffle Wedge since I happen to order a cup ice cream instead of cone. When I did happen to address this concern to the African American lady who was the cashier she stood still with a blank face. I had to tell her over and over again for atleast 3 times then she told me that they were out of waffle wedge. The Asian guy who was standing behind me tall white wearing spectacles more like "Japanese" or "Chinese" guy was trying to bully me in a very insulting manner since he literally told me that I was holding the line. I had a question and was asking the lady. If he was so impatient he should have left no one was holding him hostage. He should have been thrown out of the store for his act. If I was a white or African American he wouldn't have told me that. I didn't even was given an apology for this incident by any of the staff but only by one lady " Remano" or "Remany". Atleast I had a witness who had seen the whole incident. I know you would say that we don't have nothing to do about it. I felt that if this situation would have handled in a different way it would have been better. I mean to say if I was taken aside and I would have been told that you were out of the Waffle Wedge rather than standing still like a statue looking at me.In that way I wouldn't have taken this word from the guy who was rude, mean towards me. The ice cream here is so creative and definitely a step above other ice cream brands. I like that they include unique inclusions into their flavors, especially in their cake themed flavors. The ice cream is rich, decadent, and doesn't melt too fast, which means enjoying it isn't a race against the clock or a messy hassle. I'm not a fan of the waffle cone flavor. Its very salty for some reason and reminds me of chicken and waffles without the chicken or of savory treat. I don't think it pairs well with the super sweet flavors I had. I tried the limited Strawberry flavor, the Birthday Cake, and the Butter Cake and all were delicious. You're able to try flavors at this location but they use metal mini spoons instead of plastic mini spoons. I thought this was less wasteful.

The employee helping us try ice creams and checkin us out was incredibly kind and knowledgable about all of the flavors. I didn't feel rushed or like I was trying too many flavors before I made a decision. He made recommendations as to which flavors pair well with other and which flavors were his favorite. As someone who is very indecisive, this was really helpful. The employee had a great attitude and was easy to talk to. I appreciated his help. I meant to leave a tip but I accidentally pressed no tip on the kiosk.

My favorite ice cream place, but when the customer service is horrible it’s not as enjoyable. Every single time, and I really mean it, I have been met with rude employees. Now I’ve seen a couple that have acted polite to others, but none that I have interacted with. It is a busy place and I understand being tired, yet a smile changes everything. I’d give this 4 stars, but I have had two terrible instances with the workers. The first time an employee, a male with red hair, coughed in my ice cream with his back facing me and laughed to another employee- who responded with an awkward laugh. I asked him this and he denied it, but then gave me one after an eye roll. The second time I came with my mother. This same man mocked the way my mother spoke, who has a slight accent because English is not her first language. She said “brumbleberry” rather than “brambleberry”. He chuckled, then AGAIN whispered “bumbleee berry” in the employees ear as he was going back. She felt very insecure and asked me to order for her after that.
