A Disappointing Experience at Gourmet Bistro

I recently had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant , I had had great experiences at this place previously Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had anticipated, primarily due to the service.

Upon arrival, my party and I were greeted with a lackluster welcome. The hostess seemed overwhelmed and distracted, which set a tone of indifference that lingered throughout our visit.

Once seated, our server to approach us she seemed rushed and uninterested in answering my questions about the menu. She more interested in my HUSBAND. We placed our orders, and I had high hopes for the meal ahead. The food was prepared quickly and looked delicious we tried to flag down our server for water refills , but she was nowhere to be found. When she did check on us, it was only to deliver our meals, and she didn’t bother to ask if we needed anything else.

When the food arrived, the presentation was beautiful, but the service issues continued. While eating his food the waiter reached across his food and her sleeve grazed his plate . The waitress was totally oblivious to what she had done . My husband had to ask for a manger to address this issue because again out waitress was no where to be found. The manager offered to remake his food when it came out it was not correct so they had to bring him the items he asked to be added to his food on the side which to me was not a fix but he was content. After we finished our meals, we faced another long pause because he needed a box and a bag which we asked the waitress for , they were right by her but she insisted that we wait . We got up and preceded to leave , on the way out the manager asked if we needed a bag . I let her know I was unhappy with the service especially because we paid full price for everything and wasn’t offered anything for our inconvenience When we finally left I felt more exhausted than satisfied.

Overall, The food may have the potential to be excellent, but the service left a sour taste in our mouths. Dining out is not just about the food; the experience matters just as much. It’s disappointing to see a place with such promise fall short in the service department. I hope they can address these issues, but for now, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Food: We ordered a ceaser salad for an appetizer which was great could have had the lettuce chopped up a little bit better but the flavor of the dressing was excellent and the lettuce was fresh. For our entree we ordered a medium pepperoni and Canadian bacon pizza which was great as well. Food gets a 5!

Service: is where we have an issue. Bartender greeted us and told us to pick a spot we chose a bar table and waited on our server. She was pleasant but not attentive at all. By the time she came to us we were ready to order everything after ordering and receiving our salads we had to get up and ask for silverware. Then when she brought our pizza and asked if we needed anything else I replied by saying I would like a side of marinara sauce to which she said okay so I know she heard me however she never brought it she was too busy flirting and talking to her co-workers so we had to get up again to ask for it. Then my husband runs out of coke and she never comes to give him a refill then we had to get up one last time to ask for a box and our check she brings the box and ask if we are ready for our check which we already asked for so just overall not attentive but she was pleasant so that’s why she gets a 1. It was 230 on a Sunday so they were not busy at all there was only 2 other ppl there at the time so no excuse for her not being able to make sure we have what we needed. Atmosphere: Laid back, music not too loud, very comfortable. Will definitely come back to give a second chance on the service. I come from the restaurant industry and really pride myself on customer service and making sure my patrons have what they need and expect the same when I go into establishments. Update, there is nothing to say but great things. IDK why your there eat in, take out, drinks, lunch, dinner it does not matter. Al has put together the perfect blend of an awesome staff, great food. Loyalty program and a passion to meet or exceed your expectations. As in any business things can go wrong but it will be made right. I have been experimenting with various pizza configurations and Al ( owner) and Zach main man have been extremely helpful and tonight I dialed in my perfect pizza a white large w double steak w sauce sprinkled on top, thin crust it is simply awesome. Thank you Al and Zach and your whole kitchen, front and middle teams for making your restaurant a go to for me!

Update, most recent review 1/25/23 been here about once a week for months now, food is very good, place is always packed, bar service is great and have daily specials at the bar on drinks. Pizza wings are my go to i now order slices which is a better option for me. Steel chairs at the bar is my only gripe as they are pretty tough on my butt. The atmosphere is friendly and the managers keep things moving, take out business is strong donut can be a little crowded when entering g but friendly staff will help you find your way….original review early on …Based on one Thursday night visit sat at the bar, good service well drinks 5 bucks and decent beers on draft, very busy take out business for wings. Got a pizza w pepperoni and 1/2 onion, pizza was ok to pretty good, just very little onion and since I’m an onion freak this was a little disappointing but on balance was a decent place to go, chairs are 100 iron so seating unless your in a booth are really uncomfortable, pizza is over 20.00 for a large 16” so it ain’t cheap but all in will go back with modified...
