This was my first time eating Indian cuisine!!! And I had to review this experience First and Foremost the young woman I believe is the hostess/server was very patient with me, since was my first time ordering from their menu I ordered the yellow lentil soup and at the first bite my mouth exploded with flavors it was delicious, the garlic naan delicious but I wish they offer more than 2 half, I was very exited to try the classic butter chicken, I felt the seasoning was spectacular, very impressive introduction to the Indian cuisine I ordered Mango Chutney but I guess I didn’t know how to incorporate or how to eat it, I feel it is a good combo if you are into sweet and savory, maybe I’ll try it with regular naan in the future, at last I tried Gulab Jamun no my favorite out of today’s options, but overall 5 out of 5, small place nice and friendly costumer service the wait was 15 minutes (no bad), super tasty and I strongly recommend this hidden gem. I will definitely...
Read moreKasthamandap Kitchen in north Charlotte was not the best experience. We’ve explored a lot of Indian restaurants and while the food here itself may be Indian/Nepali, the audience that it caters to is mostly the palate of those starting out exploring desi food.
What we got:
Vegetarian momos: These were quite bland—one bite and we knew we had made a mistake ordering these. There were around 8-10 momos in the plate.
Vegetarian Noodles: These were quite bland again. Noodles are supposed to be flavorful but these hardly had any spice in them. Imagine noodles tossed with some vegetables and salt.
Chai: It had a lot of milk in it, so much so that the taste of the chai was quite faint. Again, a downer.
The service was prompt and polite. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, and there’s sufficient parking outside.
Kasthamandap Kitchen might not be the best for you if you’re seasoned eating...
Read moreWent here on a mid-day date with my wife. Good atmosphere, great food, and the music makes it all more authentic.
We tried the Lamb Korma and the Butter Chicken with Samosa and Chicken 65 starters. Per the boss’s feedback, the Butter Chicken with the least spice was still a little too spicy. I on the other hand got the spiciest chicken and Lamb Korma and I loved it. Their spice is tasty! Not just pepper extract.
To top it off, we tried their Mango Lassi and couldn’t resist slurping every last drop out of the cup. Like forget being classy, we loved it so much that we were sipping on the remaining ice to keep the flavor going. You have to try it! My wife said it’s tempting to stop by just for the Mango Lassi once a week….
All and all, it’s an amazing place. Just be ready for the Mango Lassi long term financial burden if you are planning to take your...
