McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Charlotte

I ordered my usual 2 smoky pepper jack turkey and 2 bowls of broccoli cheddar soup for my girlfriend and I and repeated my order back to the cashier as I always do. I got home and my order is wrong. I called and explained the situation and she said I can bring it back. I informed them I don’t live close and asked would they take something off for my troubles because I’m on my lunch break and I wasting my gas. I’m not just asking for something free to get a deal, it’s for my troubles. She said she can remake the sandwiches and that’s it. I said no thanks, I’ll just bring the food back and get my money back. Upon returning I was greeted by another cashier who told me that I couldn’t get the money back for the broccoli and cheddar soups because they were what I ordered. I politely asked to speak to the manager who gave me a full refund. I will not be returning to this location. The spud max with meat chilli was absolutely wonderful but the service was lack luster. The hours of operation indicate open until 10 PM and I placed my to go order by phone at 8:05 and arrived around 8:30 for pickup. The tea bins were cleaned with no sweet tea and the staff seemed so disorganized. I had ordered a peach sweet tea but of course they didn't have it and had to remove from my order. I and three others simply stood waiting for cashier service for at least 5 - 8 minutes while one cashier worked hard to fill orders and take orders and the additional person seemed uncaring. A callin order came while we were there and the uncaring employee simply placed the caller on hold and announced to the cashier, in a somewhat "whatever" tone, They can wait, I need to.... I immediately thought wow, that could be me as I make orders by phone frequently.

Last night me and my bf ordered about $30 bucks of food. The food was not fresh and was tasteless with no flavor. Both of our BLT’s were dry and messy/thrown together. My side chef salad had way more toppings then salad mix & also seemed thrown together/messy, his side of Mac and cheese was disgusting. There was no salt or flavor, it was so bland. The only food item that was decent was the sweet chipotle sandwich that we tried for the first time and the bowl of soup was okay. Purchasing all that food just for one item to be good was upsetting. The food caused my stomach to hurt so bad the next morning, well actually the only thing we ate was the sweet chipotle sandwich, the BLT’s got tossed in the trash as well as the side of Mac and cheese.
