Just spoke to the so-called "manager" who just managed to lose a customer. I was a shift leader at a Papa Johns 5 years ago (before I found better employment), so I know how he SHOULD have handled this situation. I was given 5 cards that drivers hand out to hotel employees for us referring Papa Johns instead of other local pizzerias to guests. I tried to cash in the cards for the large pizza offered on it. The young woman who answered the call initially was very nice and courteous, so clearly this Roy guy didn't train her -- or maybe she just has common courtesy. She states that she doesn't now how to process the cards and would need to transfer to a manager to handle the order. I thank her and she transfer the call. The manager picks up the call, and already drops the ball...he sounded as if he was eating and talking with his mouth full. Disgusting. I tell him that I was transferred to him to process an order using the collect 5 cards. Immediately, he says, "What?" I needlessly repeat myself, and he tells me that his restaurant doesn't participate because he doesn't even know what I'm talking about. Now that may not sound bad in script, but the way it sounded verbally was very rude and dismissive. He made me feel as if I was imaging these cards I was holding in my hand. He could have said, "Oh yes ma'am...I understand your request; unfortunately, this location does not participate in that promotion." BOOM! That would have been so much more palatable than the crude way this manager (Roy Lineberger) handled it. It's called professionalism. You do not need to make a figure salary to have professionalism. I have known pool cleaners and garbage handlers with more professionalism than this Roy Lineberger. He has single-handedly ruined this location's reputation, and with me working at a hotel, I'll be sure to pass the word along to our guests looking for a meal. You can...
Read moreI'm a first time customer. Thought we'd give Papa John's pizza a try.
I spent quite a bit of money and discovered a few things:
The sausage on the medium pizza's tasted like breakfast sausage-not Italian sausage. Totally ruined the flavor of the pizza. I asked for light sauce on one and regular on the other. Pizza's were made to that request and I know this because (see next issue)
I asked for light sauce on the Chicken Veggie pizza, it was not light. In fact you could see it under the cheese and particularly thick at the edges of the crust.
I don't know why anyone would pay for "priority pass delivery" when it still takes 39-49 minutes for delivery. Not piping hot, but still sorta warm. I think pizza may have delivered around 30-35 minutes but still, what a mislead.
Crust on all pizzas, while tannish on the bottom, was very chewy in the center and tough as nails on the outer edges. This is signature pizza?
Delivery girl was very nice and I don't mind the 6$ tip. That is the best thing I can say about Papa John's nasty pizza.
What a huge disappointment and waste of money. My husband, myself, my grand boys (who eat just about everything and really like pizza) were all starving and this pizza was such a let down. Honestly, I don't know how this passes for pizza or why the Papa John's chain is so popular. Do we just shove food in our faces and not care how it tastes or what it costs? It all went in the garbage last night. I'm sure when the raccoons realize it's in there they'll enjoy it.
I joined the Papa Johns online club but will be cancelling that. I won't be back. I'd like to get my money back but I have a feeling Papa will be keeping that. You got me and you got me good. Caveat emptor holds...
Read moreSo my wife just had a baby, I'm across the street at the hospital. I ordered a large pizza off my app with specific instructions on where to meet me. The app says delivered at 7:58 at the latest. 8:10 rolls around not a word. I go downstairs and ask the desk if they have seen a pizza guy and they say no. I call the store and the lady who answered says "let me get a manager" by this time is 15 mins past arrival time - mind you I have a new born and my wife upstairs. The manager says he's sorry they called the wrong number and couldn't find me. I call BS, my email is on the app information too. He yells in the phone to some driver, Anthony maybe, to take the pizza back over. I'm standing outside now and can SEE THE STORE! I stand out there 5 more minutes and call back. The lady says the driver is 2 mins away. I told her I am not paying for this pizza it's 30 mins late and I'm pissed. She agrees and says he will be right there. I wait 5 more minutes and the store calls me. It's the manager, yelling at me... yelling "you just told my employee you're not paying for this pizza?!?" I said yes sir. It's 30 mins late, I'm downstairs, away from my new born child waiting on a pizza! He offers 50% off and I refuse it. He ends up getting even more mad and says "well I'm canceling your f@$&ing order good bye!" And hangs up the phone. I am half a mile away and was so pissed I thought about just walking to the store and really making a scene. I decided to be the bigger person and not, but I hope this review gets to who ever owns this store and is properly handled. I will be going to...
