I was really looking forward to trying a low-carb version of the ACP (Arroz con Pollo), but unfortunately the dish completely missed the mark. I didn’t mind it being cheesy. That’s part of what ACP is known for, but it’s also supposed to be creamy. It was advertised as with crema. Which in my experience is usually a sour cream sauce. What I got was just dry shredded chicken and vegetables under a thick layer of melted cheese, with no creaminess whatsoever.
I had requested grilled veggies instead of rice and beans, along with pickled jalapeños, but the jalapeños weren’t included. When I asked, I was brought fresh ones instead — despite clarifying my request twice. When I mentioned the lack of crema, the server showed me a to-go container with cold sour cream, pico, and shredded lettuce, (That was with my to-go meal).
It felt like because I didn’t order the default rice-and-beans version, the dish was treated like a downgrade. The grilled veggies were minimal, and overall it just lacked the flavor and balance I expected from a good ACP plate.
The mock margarita, however, was solid, refreshing with a nice tajín rim. I really enjoyed that.
I might give them another try, but I’d definitely be more cautious with custom orders next time. I wanted to love this , but I left disappointed.
I gave it another try. I think it's just me its just not for me. I got a chicken quesadilla and spicy margarita and some queso. Everything was just very bland. The drink wasn't horrible, I finished it. But I still didn't to much care for it. Beware of getting sides of sour cream or pico. Both were almost $2 a piece. The customer service is fantastic. The manager did have a little attitude when I was expressing my grievances. But ok overall he was still mostly professional. The waiter was very kind...
Read moreI’ve been patronizing this restaurant since 2012 and have never had an experience like tonight, 4/2/24. My son and I visited and there were only 4 tables seated inside and one outside. After standing at the hostess stand for 2 min, the bartender finally acknowledged us and said someone would be there to help us. A young lady walks up and asks how many and I say two and ask if we can sit outside. She says sure, sit wherever you like. 5 min pass and she never comes out with the menus and silverware she picked up while talking to me so I walk in and grab it off the hostess stand. Another 5 minutes pass and a lady brings us chips and salsa. 10 min later, a group of six white men and women walk in for a table and sit outside across from us. They are immediately served salsa and given waters. 20 min and we’ve not been greeted and don’t have any water. I say loudly, we’ve been sitting here over 10 min and no one has greeted us. Her and another server go back and forth IN FRONT OF ME about who is going to wait on me and my son. Then they asked who sat me outside? I’m like what??? Someone at the hostess stand said we could sit outside and someone would be with us. They still bickered and finally one said no one knew I was there, which was a LIE because both waitresses walked past me sitting BESIDE the door several times and put their head down! By this time I’m so upset and am trying to remain calm for my son. She takes my order and 5 min later, still no beverages. I tell my son we have to go and we leave. I’m utterly disgusted by the two waitresses behavior and how poorly my son and I were treated and how no one wanted to serve us. Over 10 years a patron and I’ll never give these people my money...
Read moreWow! This place was absolutely what my wife and I were looking for on a Saturday night date with our baby. The service was extremely friendly, and welcomed us as soon as we opened the door, I felt like I was royalty. We requested our seat, the best seat in the house, and they gladly accommodated us. Come to think of it, they accommodated everything! Especially my craving for extra extra chips and salsa. Did I mention the salsa? Yes, it is made in house!! And was delicious. I think they are authentic?! Sure tasted like it. I got the huge burrito, and the queso sauce melted in my mouth, the Carne Asada revitalized my Mexican roots, and the homemade hababero mango salsa still has me crying. In the best way possible. my wife’s meal, although I only got one small fork full, was probably the best enchilada I’ve ever had. She was very kind to share with me.
Lastly, I would love to express our gratitude to the business owners for hiring Reylene (I hope I spelt her name right). Every restaurant should have a Reylene. She was friendly, very attentive to our desires, knew the menu well, and what to suggest, and made us feel like we were family.
Also, to the tall guy with the nice haircut working the bar and the sweet woman cleaning tables: we appreciated your friendliness and smiles as well.
Well done,...
