the Taproom — Restaurant in Charlotte

If you are of color don’t go here!!! My family of 4 was there on 12/17/23 around 7pm. We planned on having dinner there as my son was catching a flight to TX. There was a sign stating. Please wait to be seated!! We stood there waiting for a host to come seat us. 3 Caucasian people walked up went right into the restaurant and ask the host if they can sit at the empty table. He said yes. While we were still standing in the line. So we said are you serious?? In disbelief!! A woman that works at the bar Caucasian purple hair says very rude WE DIDN’T SEE YOU STANDING THERE!!! Which wasn’t true when we walked up she looked right at us and continued texting on her phone! We didn’t go inside we walked away. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed with the customer service we received. I had to explain to my 14 year old that it isn’t ok to be treated like that ever in life!! We went and ate Wendy’s. Where we were treated with respect and great hospitality. Later to see the host guy and the bartender walking down the hall holding hands laughing and having a good time together. So apparently they are friends instead of her checking her coworkers letting him know that he didn’t follow the rule/sign. She became part of...

Gave it another chance on my way back home after i had a taaty meal but extremely slow service 10 days ago. This time i ordered simple as i could for my shorter layover: one waffle and a side of bacon... 25 minutes later, i get an ok waffle and two pieces of burnt bacon (no mention of my wait when food finally delivered). Then i find out the butter is cinnamon sugar butter. That comes by default, no warning on the menu. So, still patient at this point , I ask for some regular butter, and i get... margarine. Not butter. Not patient now... I get up to find another waitress. I ask her if they had any regular butter. She also did not know there was a difference between the two. 😵 🙈 (But she was certain that the kitchen didn't have any regular butter - only the cinnamon sugar...

On Sunday, 06/22/23, our flight was delayed and since there is no Delta lounge in the Charlotte airport, we stopped by the Tap Room for dinner. The place was packed b/c of all the flight delays. We got the last table available. Derrick was our server and he was so nice and attentive. He recommended the onion rings which were very good! I had the grilled cheese and my husband had the fried chicken salad both were very yummy. Akua O. was assisting all the servers with promptly getting food out and helping customers get their checks quickly to catch their flight.
