It was a very disappointing experience my husband had at your Carolina Pit BBQ on the morning of Tuesday, March 18, around 10:00 AM.
MY husband was standing in front of the food counter, waiting to place an order, but the employee, Miss L., completely ignored him for over five minutes as if he wasn’t even there. When he eventually approached the counter to ask where he should order, she told him that he was supposed to order from the exact spot where she had just ignored him.
However, as soon as a white male customer stepped up, Miss L. immediately took his order without hesitation—despite my husband having been there first and already trying to order. It was a blatant case of disregard and unfair treatment, which was both frustrating and upsetting to witness.
I believe all customers should be treated with respect, regardless of their background. I hope you will address this situation seriously and take appropriate action to ensure that no customer experiences this kind of treatment in the future.
I would appreciate your response on how this matter will be handled. My first visit to Minnesota left a great impression on me—the people were kind and welcoming. However, my first experience at Charlotte Airport was quite disappointing.
Airport staff are not just employees; they play a key role in shaping a city's first impression for visitors. I truly hope that unwelcoming service like this doesn’t reflect poorly...
Read moreIt's been 6 days since I've been back from my business trip and I'm still thinking about that brisket sandwich on my lay over at Charlotte Douglas international Airport. Most people yearn their entire life for someone to think about them in such an endearing manner the way I think about that brisket sandwich from Brookwood Farms Carolina Pit BBQ.
After an extremely busy week, in the final stretch of a long travel day.. I found myself in a dilemma. I had thirty minutes until my next flight boards and I had to make a difficult decision: Brookwood Farms Carolina Pit BBQ or Cinnabon. I decided to go savory over sweet, and it was the best decision I made the entire trip.
As I watched the lovely lady behind the counter pick the pieces for my sammy, she hit me with the most adorable "And your feexins?" to which I chose corn. The brisket was cooked perfectly and tasted phenomenal especially with that BBQ sauce they had up front. The side of corn was surprisingly crunchy and sweet.
If you're in the mood for barbecue, I highly suggest buying a plane ticket, going through TSA and hitting up Brookwood Farms Carolina Pit BBQ at Charlotte Airport. I will be back on my next trip. I only hope you think of me as much as I...

There's a bothersome trend happening at airports, and I'll call them out every time. No pricing on the drinks, specifically the beer. Why? Because this is where the profit margins are the biggest. So you get your food, you pick out a beer (with no displayed cost) then get to the register 10-15 feet further down, and if you happen to ask, they will let you know that your beer was $9 -$12. There's people behind you in line, waiting to eat and catch their next plane. Do you disrupt everything to go put it back? Nope, you just cringe and pay it. And almost all of the people who go to this place will only do so once or twice it their life, so who cares? They don't need repeat business. I highly doubt someone from the restaurant even responds to this.
Ok, all that aside, I figured the beer was $10, wanted it anyway, and paid for it along with a 3 meat platter. Food was good, 7/10. Brisket, pulled pork, and the sauce was excellent. Smoked turkey was very average. I've had much better, so I would choose something else. Macaroni and cheese was the highlight of the side orders.
All together, 3/5 stars. Be transparent about your pricing and that would have easily been...
