Second dining experience. After my good dining experience last week, I came back and was very disappointed. I ordered the Spicy Pig Tavern Pizza and it was probably one of the worst things I have ever ate at a restaurant. First of all, it came out missing a key ingredient, which was bacon. I asked the waitress about it and she said she thought it was supposed to have bacon, but the kitchen said it didn't. She looked it up on the menu, the kitchen was wrong. She takes it back and it comes back out with some crumbled bacon bits thrown on it, barely any at that. It was not remade or even put back in the oven. So I started to eat a warm pizza that barely had any of it's key meat ingredients and was covered in pineapple and jalepeno. I had to scrape off the pineapple and jalepeno because there was so much put in the middle and not spread out on the pizza. Didn't bother telling the waitress about the toppings because the kitchen just would have scraped off the toppings like I did, seeing how lazily they handled the other situation. The Spicy Pig, one of the worst dishes I have ever had at a restaurant. The waitress is what saved this from being one star. First dining experience. Great restaurant and dining experience. Food was delicious and the service was excellent by our server Virginia. Wide variety of beer and the dinner menu is extensive. Tavern cut pizza was good although the ingredients could have been spread out better over the pizza. The shrimp scampi pasta was cooked perfectly, the shrimp weren't rubbery or burnt. Will definitely return since the menu can cover just about any dining option; pizza, burgers, pasta, steak, salad, vegetarian, and alcohol; and the service was fantastic.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would, because this was by far my worst restaurant experience ever!! AND I WORK IN THE INDUSTRY. Pretty sad this place is known around town for having "the worst service" and now I understand why. Our waitress was so rude that it became borderline hostile. The drinks took over an hour to come to the table. Yet the place was dead? We ordered mainly shots, and draft beers. We were the only "big" party (8 ppl) drinking/ordering at that time AND had a reservation. Our "nachos" were only chips, cheese, tomatoes, and still frozen-in-the-middle chicken. We paid full price for them without even a mere apology. We wouldn't have ordered them had we known they were out of the main ingredients. Instead, our waitress was so rude no one dared to even want to speak to her for fear of her wrath. And the worst part? You decide between our waitress handing my boss the check WHILE he was eating (and we were still missing beers), or the fact our waitress served a 20 year sober man an alcoholic beverage AFTER he asked if it had alcohol in it or not. He had to leave the table for a while after that. Here is a photo of how they serve their tequila shots for anyone interested. Who knew a lemon came with tequila? My advice: save your money and time and go next door to Outback, with much better food/drinks AND FRIENDLY SERVICE.

The photo attached is what is supposed to pass as Parmesan crusted chicken. I have no complaints about our server other than to say that she did not check on us after we ordered & our food took quite a bit of time to come out even though it was a pretty dead Tuesday evening. The chicken was somehow burnt but also rubbery. I mentioned to our server that the chicken was fairly burnt but I was too hungry to wait for another entree & her response is that the chicken is normally fairly dark but offered to bring me another side to compensate. I ate what I could (which wasn’t much) & left the rest. I flagged down another server after finishing (ours was nowhere in sight) & asked to speak to a manager but no one ever came. Once we eventually received our check they did take off the inedible entree & the server apologized again. We come here because they have a fairly large menu but it seems every time we do there is some sort of issue with either food or just poor staffing. Can’t say I’ll be returning any time soon

We decided to eat at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse tonight, and we will never return.

First, it took a long time, almost an hour to get our food, which no biggie…EXCEPT OUR FOOD WENT TO ANOTHER TABLE BEFORE IT CAME TO US. & it was cold.

I had my baby in the baby wrap bc I wanted steak and was going to cut it before taking him out. He was becoming extremely restless, so as I was about to take him out, our waiter comes out with our food…well what I had thought was our food. (Which it was) He walks to the table sitting next to us that arrived well after we did and placed it down. Walks back to the kitchen. Moments later he comes RUNNING out of the kitchen back to that table and says to them “wait wait wait, that’s not right.” TAKES THEIR PLATES FROM THEM, and runs back to the kitchen. I just knew that was our food. & that it was about to be handed to us even after they started eating it.

Maybe 3min later, he brings us our plates. I ate a bite of steak and it was cold…I ate a bite of my mashed potatoes and they were hot…which confirms that we were given the same steak/shrimp/ribs that was on their plates.

The waiter then comes back to our table rambling to try to find the words, “You had loaded mashed potatoes right?” I did order those, and he asks, “so what? You want butter pause and cheese pause and sour cream?” I said, “Uhhhhh…..yeah?”

He comes back to the table with three different bowls of each and again rambling trying to find the words, “They don’t load them in the back. Idk why. So here, you’ll have to make them.” Which isn’t a big deal, but he clearly was anxious bc we obviously knew what happened.

We did not feel comfortable eating the food that another table had started eating, amirite? So, I asked to speak to the manager. (Which I never complain about food or service coming from working as a server so many years.) But this just did not sit right with me.

The manager I guess was in disbelief that we caught what had happened because he tried to tell us that we were not given the same sides…that they threw out all the food and gave us food that was supposed to go to yet another table. Going back and forth about the situation, he still could not explain why our steak was cold if it was for another table. It would have been hot if it had just been cooked. Then proceeded to ask if we wanted boxes…we said no, that if we wanted to eat it, we would eat it here.

No apologies from the manager nor the waiter. Only that they would take care of the bill after we had told them we just wanted the check. Sitting waiting for the check to pay for the drinks and appetizers, the waiter rudely walks past our table never stopping and says, “Your whole bill...

At first we LOVED BJ's. They have a great menu and prices aren't bad for Charlottesville. The past two times we've been though have been awful. Our food was brought out at different times and wrong. The first time we ordered the parmesan crusted chicken which then cames with broccoli and baked potatoes. We order it and It came out with mashed potatoes instead up the baked potato when we asked what happened the bartender went back and told us they were out of baked potatoes which wouldn't have been a big deal if they told us but instead they just put the mashed potatoes on and didn't ask us if we wanted something different. We would have ordered a different meal if we had known. When we brought it to a manager's attention they did nothing to help correct the situation instead they told us it was the barteneders fault. Which we don't think it was because he didn't even know they were out of baked potatoes until we asked him why we didnt receive one. The last time we went a similar situation occured. We had placed our order and added an order of wings before our waitress even left the table. The extra order of wings came when we finished the rest of our meal 30 minures after We finished the meal! We didn't order them to go we ordered them to be brought out with the rest of order. When we told the "manager" what had happened she told us it was our servers fault and offered NOTHING to correct the situation. Our server was really nice and attentive yet the "manager" told us it was her fault for not placing the order right. No it's the systems fault for not being able to go back and fix an order. And on top of everything they allowed two emotional pets in a stroller into the restaurant! If we hadn't of already finished our meal we would have left right then and there. There is no reason to allow pets into a restaurant! I felt sick after seeing them. They're fur could be anywhere in the restaurant. We're very disappointed with our trip to BJ's. We will NOT be back again. A tip to the wise sit at the bar if you want decent service and don't bother with a manager. They aren't worth the wait to speak to one! We went last on March 9th and spoke with a women "manager" she had very short hair and didn't wear a button down. She wore a bjs shirt so who ono2s if she was even a manager! Very very...

This location is a lost cause. I love BJs and for some reason they can not get it right here. This is my 1st time back after giving up on them months ago due to, long waits when it's barely customers in restaurant, inaccuracy orders and inconsistency. I placed an order online to make things easier because dining in at this location is a headache. The crowd was inside was minimal. Seems like everyone was eating. So I had a good feeling that my food would be great. A simple sandwich with french fries. I'm sitting in waiting and 4 people approached me about being helped but when the food was ready (est. time) I'm still waiting. I finally get my food and they forget my ranch. Get into the car, pick up a fry...cold...seems like they've been sitting because it had that sweat taste. I over look that because I can crisp them back up in the oven. Get home only to find an extremely cold sandwich. Chicken, cheddar cheese and bacon usually comes hot and cooked. They just put precooked cold bacon on my sandwich and it was chunks of cold chicken on my sandwich, as they had this prepared for salads instead of grilling a breast a chicken as usual. No avocado. The bread was toasted on one side and the other side just plain butter. I was thinking maybe the fries were sitting because the chicken took a little longer to cook. But if I received a cold sandwich. Why were the fries bad?!?! I called back to the restaurant and spoke to a manager Sara. She refunded my card, apologized, said she was going to send something to my email (which I still haven't received) to have me give them another try and talk with her cooks. But after reading reviews..clearly this happens all the time and no one are training or speaking with these cooks because its continues to go on. I noticed the prices keep going up and the service is still horrible. I probably will never try this location again unless I see improvement...
