Bodo's Bagels on The Corner is a well oiled machine. They are well known for being the busiest and.best! But they are crazy busy when school is in session. The volume they run through is staggering.

Parking is challenging! You can park off street my meter, or nearby garage on Elliewood.

My one visit was excellent during a weekday morning. It was packed with a line to the door. A bit intimidating, but I hung in there and was shocked how fast the line moved.

The staff was friendly as I looked at the menu board, I decided on a pastrami with Swiss cheese on an everything bagel. The checkout was smooth and an amazing value. There is no tipping.

When it came to waiting it's a bit hectic, listening for your order. In less than 10 minutes my order was called. The dining room was mostly full, but I found a table to eat in. I found the area clean. My sandwich was phenomenal! Everything was fresh and delicious.

They are self bussing. Absolutely...

Bodo's is awesome, and it serves the area perfectly. It's a local chain that's cheap, unique, and you get your food fast and reliably. I've never had an issue with an order getting messed up here and I've went to this location quite a lot during my time as a student at UVA. The line can definitely get quite long, but it moves FAST. Even with a line going out the door, it might be five minutes before you're talking to the cashier, and another five before the food comes out. The bagels here are NOT toasted, which might not be what you're used to, but they're nice and fluffy. My order is pastrami, swiss, and hummus on an everything bagel. So delicious. This is an iconic restaurant...

I'm from NJ and can be particular about bagels. This is one of the best bagels I've had outside of the NY/NJ area! They're actually cooked like bagels - not regular bread molded into bagel shape. That seems like a low standard, but it's not met most of the time! These are cooked to perfection.

I agree with another reviewer who said they'd prefer the cream cheese to be a little less runny, though.

Service is very fast. I was here for the lunch rush (and have been to the other location on Emmet St.) and their system is impressive. You shouldn't have to wait too long.

The prices are also...

Bodo’s had great bagels, but I didn’t love the cream cheese. The bagels were cooked perfectly, but the cream cheese was way too runny. I also would prefer that they cut the bagels in half after putting on cream cheese to make it easier to eat. The staff was super nice and the prices were very reasonable. Also, great mirror to snap a quick selfie so I could tell my parents I was eating a bagel.

Wow! What a delicious bagel. Definitely not the most traditional bagel but a horseradish pastrami bagel with the works came out to around $5 but made for an absolutely delicious way to start the day for brunch. The sesame bun and fully loaded toppings provided one irresistible bite after another. The portion sizes don't look too large but it was able to fill me up without any issues.

I love their fresh warm sesame bagels either with cream cheese or as a sandwich, good value for excellent meal. Coffee is ok, refill is only 56 cents so eat there to make the coffee value better. Or down the first cup there and refill on the way out. Long lines go quickly. The location on the corner is the nicest. The drive thru on Emmet is convenient.
