Best coffee shop in Charlottesville. One of the ways I rate a coffee shop is their black brew coffee and a mocha latte. The black coffee is smooth, no burnt after taste. The mocha latte aka submarino w/espresso is wonderful, it's not too sweet! I don't like super sweet things and this was perfect. It's a good rich chocolate taste balanced well with the espresso and milk.

Don't forget to try their delicious pastry items and empanadas! The cheese and onion empanada is delicious along with the quince medialuna and alfajor. All very tasty!

The service and attention to detail is also great. They're more than happy to tell you more about the treats in the case. I also like how they serve your drink and treats.

The seating inside is very limited. Only 3 small tables that sit 2 each. There are tables...

We finally came in after months of driving by on the way to church and are so glad we did- it has the most wonderful atmosphere and people. It’s beautifully kept up and orderly, and was playing pretty piano music that put us in a good mood before even waking in the door. The service was so kind and efficient, he told us more about lots of menu items and helped us pick a ham and cheese empanada and a vanilla cream pastry. Both were warm and so delicious. We also had a cappuccino which was tasty and beautifully presented with complementary tea biscuit-type treats and a glass of sparkling water. It was almost too perfect looking to eat. We talked with the employees about Soccer and just had a really nice time. My husband described it as a “haven.” A new...

I grew up in Argentina making, smelling and, most importantly, eating empanadas. Cumbre’s are the best, hands down, empanadas tucumanas I have ever tasted. The dough is beautiful, thin and flavorful. Tried the cheese and onion, and a bite from my husband’s chicken empanada. Both delicious. We looked at the tray in the warming oven and at each other and knew we could devour a dozen on our own…which we will do very soon. The coffee is powerful and the match a real treat. The business has a mission too! They send money to Tucumán in Argentina, to feed schoolchildren there, where the need is great right now. Thanks to the owners and everyone who works there, for making this Argentine proud with their dedication to quality and humanity. We’ll be...

What a fantastic little place! Definitely on par with MariBette and CouCou - and that is saying a lot. You can tell they really care about every detail. We ordered two ham & cheese empanadas and they were incredible. We also got a matcha latte and an iced americano. Both were delicious and came with a little chocolate cookie and some sparkling water. Had to grab 2 pastries to go which I’m sure will be equally as great as the rest of it. Everyone was so welcoming and the inside of the shop was so cute and clean. A great little spot to sit outside under the umbrellas too!

Beautiful, space-efficient interior, friendly staff, and all things wonderful in the world of pastries. One bite of my meat empanada, and I was transported back to the streets of Buenos Aires, hearing the ringing of the bell on the bike of the empanada delivery guy, who later rings my doorbell and hands over a big bag of fresh, greasy, salty goodness to enjoy with friends late into the night. Update: we just tried the alfajores. This was my son's first alfajor! He loved it. They are enormous and so, so good.
