Good for a quick taco fix. Here’s my honest local guide review! This is my first time at Torchys and I got the breakfast tacos - Migas (on flour tortilla) and Potato, egg, and cheese (on corn tortilla). Both tacos were generously filled - a lot of eggs and a lot of cheese. The tomatillo salsa has a great smokey flavor. The red sauce was medium spicy. The potatoes on the potato egg and cheese were salty, a little too salty for my taste but probably fine for most people. The avocado on the Migas was a generous size. Extra points for using cage free eggs! The togo order was well packaged. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. There wasn’t any wow factor in the overall flavor other than the smokey tomatillo sauce, hence the 3 out of 5 stars. Bottom line if you are visiting Charlottesville I recommend one of the great local taco places, if you are local and want to mix it up from time to time with something different it’s worth the try. I’ll go back again to review the lunch/dinner tacos soon!

Finally tried Torchy's! The personnel were friendly & efficient. The restaurant was clean & busy. We ate outside in the patio to take advantage of the nice weather. The food was tasty & filling. For starters, the guacamole & chips were yummy. If you get a non-alcoholic beverage, you can refill at the refill station, which also has containers for leftovers. I got the burrito in a bowl with beef. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the "beef" was shredded beef, not ground beef. My husband got the Orange Taco, which he said was very filling, & the Street Corn side. I got a frozen peach margarita. The menu said they use fresh squeezed lime juice & I believe it! Because, the lime juice was all I could taste. Next time, I'll order a lime Margarita on the rocks.

My wife and I dined in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in May. The restaurant was well kept and the employees were very helpful. This was our first time here and they answered all of our questions. The food breakdown: the tacos are 6 inch tortillas ranging from $4-$6 each. Depending on how hungry you are, you could get full on 1. We were able to make changes to our tacos with ease (spicy food doesn’t settle the best with me). They brought the chips & guacamole to us first at our table then brought the tacos 5 minutes later. For our lunch, it was $34. The food was very delicious! We were stuffed in the end and loved our experience! If you’re in the area or driving down 64, it’s worth the time to come eat here!

My son and I ate in for dinner on a Thursday night. Was pretty dead overall and limited staff working. Service was quick and food was good expect for one major issue. The chips were so extremely salty almost uneatable. Thinking about it now the next day I should have requested new chips. I would have givin 4 stars if not for this issue. We had both guacamole and roja salsa both excellent. The guacamole was as good as any I've ever had. I had the chicken fajita taco which was enough to fill me up. My son had the Baja shrimp the trailer park taco and the jerk chicken tacos I can't remember the name of right now. He definitely enjoyed the Baja shrimp taco wasn't too crazy about the trailer park taco. But at that point he'd already eaten two tacos and was pretty stuffed along with basket of chips and guacamole + salsa. It's a little difficult to figure out what to order I suggest start with one taco, two for getting stuffed, along with chips and guacamole. We took home half of container guacamole, half a basket of the salty chips, and half of the trailer park taco. We actually had to de-salt the chips it got to be so bad the salt overdose. Otherwise I would probably give the place three and a half or four stars. It was $41 for four tacos the chips and salsa and the chips and guacamole, and one fountain drink that was shared. Plus $3 tip for $44 total.

It's a type of fast casual restaurant not really a real sit down restaurant nor not really a fast food restaurant. Similar to Chipotle or Panera Bread but they also have a large bar with alcohol which was a little different then other...

Commentary on Our Experience at Torchy's Tacos, Charlottesville, Virginia

During our recent visit to Torchy's Tacos in Charlottesville, Virginia, we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and delicious food. As first-time visitors, we were eager to try the recommendations from my daughter, and the experience exceeded our expectations.

From the moment we walked in, Margie, who managed the customer experience, made us feel welcome. Her impeccable recommendations on the menu showcased her deep knowledge of the dishes, and she expertly guided us through the options. Additionally, she introduced us to the Torchy's Frequent Customer Program, which we were excited to join.

The food itself was a highlight, with an impressive array of dishes that were clearly prepared with care by the kitchen staff. Each item was flavorful and beautifully presented, making our meal a true delight.

Allison and the bus person who assisted us were equally exceptional. Their attentiveness and empathy ensured that all our needs were met throughout our visit. It was evident that they were committed to providing a top-notch customer service experience, checking in with us regularly and making sure we were satisfied.

Kudos to Marco and manager Brian for running such a tight operation. Their leadership and dedication to customer service were evident in every aspect of our visit. Overall, our experience at Torchy's Tacos was not just about the food; it was about the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by a fantastic team. We look forward to returning and enjoying another...

I hate leaving bad reviews when I know some places are struggling with staffing, but there was little redeeming about our experience at Torchy's.

My wife ordered online for pickup, with a pickup time of 4:30 (she ordered about 45 minutes ahead of time). She arrives (at 4:32) with our toddler and the person behind the desk turns and walks to the back as soon as she walks up. Five minutes later, someone comes out and asks if she's with doordash (I suppose people might doordash with a toddler on their hip). After she explains that she placed an online order and gives her name, they ask her what it was she ordered.... They eventually figure it out, and obviously hadn't started on it yet since it took thirty minutes from that point to get the food ready. (Luckily I was driving by and picked up our toddler after the first twenty minutes)

They were apologetic and offered free chips for the trouble. But we get home and they forgot to pack the dessert and the steak quesadilla. I know, we should have checked before we left. Problem with the order? Just call the number! ...And be looped back to the introductory message because no one answers the phone... Yay!

The guacamole was good. The brisket burrito was almost entirely beans and rice. Everything else was not bad, but I wouldn't say it was particularly good. But maybe that's because we started with a bad taste...
