Carmine's Pizza — Restaurant in Chatham

If I could give this place a Zero, I would. Answering system says that ordering online is faster - I do, and 10 minutes later when my son arrives: they can't find the order when they do, they tell him it will be 40 MINUTES for a simple 12" cheese pizza he calls me, says they offered him a WRONG pizza (sausage) - he declines - and they tell him it will be ANOTHER 15 minutes to fix it I call and ask to speak to the manager. I hear the manager tell the server to tell me the manager won't be there until after 8 PM (yes, she told her to LIE to me). I tell the server I just heard the manager tell her to lie to me. And I would like to speak to the manager. she tells me she is too busy. I reiterate the situation my son has conveyed. Her response? "So do you want the pizza or not?" OH my gawd. Last night I had the pleasure of trying Carmine’s pizza and it was an absolute delight. I was in the mood for a ham and pineapple pizza, but when I called to make an order I was told that they were out of pineapple. On my arrival for pickup, I learned that one of the team had gone out of her way to accommodate my taste preferences. She went shopping for pineapple chunks and made me a delicious ham and pineapple pizza. The pizza had the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors and the crust was light and crispy, with just the right chewiness too. My experience is a great example of exceptional customer service and how it can make a huge difference in a customer's experience. I was one of a party of six adults and two toddlers who stopped in for an early supper. My son, who worked in pizza parlors for years, proclaimed the large (VERY large!) pepperoni pizza to be about the best he's ever had. We also opted for a small (still large!) white sauce chicken and Canadian bacon pizza. Everything was very fresh. We thought we had over ordered, but we ended up finishing every last morsel. Even with assorted soft drinks, the bill came to a little over $40. We were all very pleased.
