On a recent family vacation, our daughter lost her most favorite stuffie, a small yellow duck with red feet she named Clara that has been with her since birth. I was overjoyed to find that Ducks in the Window was selling online that very same duck that was lost (or so I thought). A week later we arrived home to find a box containing a duck, not with red feet, rather orange. I contacted Ducks in the Window to explain the situation, stating that their website clearly shows a duck with red feet in multiple images and that is not what was shipped. Their response?
“We received your message and Wabanub only makes the orange feet duck. They are also discounting making them so they will be hard to find.”
No acknowledgement that they were falsely advertising a red duck but shipping something completely different and no offer to remedy the situation. I have emailed them twice more since that initial correspondence and they have not answered.
I try hard to patronize small businesses because we need strong, local alternatives to the retail giants but honestly had I ordered this item from Amazon, I would not be having these challenges. That makes me incredibly sad because it might influence the shopping decisions I make in the future. I will not loose sleep over the lost $28, but as a father I certainly have over not being able to bring "Clara" home. That duck meant the world to her.
Most of all, I am sad for them as a business and for their employees that they don’t realize how important taking care of the customer is in this age of...
Read moreI'm editing my review after a response from the company and a refund of my order. See below for my former review. I had left a voicemail, an email, and a message on my online account with minimal response before writing my review. I trust Ducks in the Window has learned from this and will find someone to quickly respond to customers. I thank them and appreciate that they have made this right. Hopefully with the insurance, they are able to recoup the cost from USPS.
I ordered from Ducks in the Window. The 1st class package with insurance was never received. USPS said it was delivered, but that is incorrect. We never got it. Ducks in the window won’t respond to inquiries about the package or requests for a refund. Things happen; I understand that. However, the lack of appropriate response for 2 months is...
Read moreSCAM! DO NOT PURCHASE! Ordered 2 grinch ducks in November 2024. In January 2025 I made an initial complaint with PayPal as I hadn't received anything. The company responded and told me it was due to the postal strike in Canada. January 8 2025 I finally received 1 of the 2 ducks I ordered. I edited my dispute for the 1 missing duck. The store agreed to refund for the missing duck if I sent the one I got back. That would mean I am still paying for 1 duck and have nothing to show for it. I have been forced to open a claim with my financial institution as pay pal had no way to help me....
