I had good expectations on a recent visit for a great local pizza place in Chatham and overlooked some of the negative reviews. I have to say I was disappointed in the customer service and pizza quality. The place closes at 9 and I arrived at 815 with my wife and 7mo yr old baby, obviously tired and hungry. The young cashier/host looked at his watch as we looked at the menu and when asked about seating he wasn't helpful at all. It was obvious he wanted to close. My wife was turned off by the service and went back to our rental but I placed an order and came back for take out. We ate and the pizza wasn't great. I'm a New Yorker and maybe I'm biased but there was barely any sauce and it looked rushed. Hate to write a less than positive review because the staff in the back was working very hard. But I hope this incites some changes in the business since every other business we visited in Cape Cod went out of their way to make us feel real special, especially...
Read moreSweet Tomatoes fills our void of excellent thin crust New England pizza every year (we visit from Austin TX). The crust has that crispy crunch that’s so satisfying. We’ve dropped in for pizza by the slice with the trademark big slices you have to fold to eat. We’ve ordered whole pies - and the large IS TRUE LARGE, y’all. Our fave is the clams casino. When we stopped in the other day the guy was answering two phones at once, with another guy doing the drop in orders, and the owner and another making the pizza. Love & appreciate the efficiency and hard work!! This is why we need to support local and small. There’s so much hard work and passion poured into it, that can’t be replicated by huge corporations. Thanks for a fabulous experience...
Read moreWas visiting on vacation and stopped in Chatham for the day. Everyone was craving pizza, and came across Sweet Tomatoes. I unfortunately called the Yarmouth location so when I got there they of course didn't have the order. Felt like an idiot but they assured me it was okay and it happens. Glad we chose here as the pizza was unbelievable. The undercarriage was charred up perfectly, when finished eating we all looked like we worked in the coal mine, which is an absolute compliment if you know good pizza. I forget the gentleman's name who came out to see how the pizza was and say hi to our dog but kudos to him Fantastic all around. Dave Portnoy would be doing himself a favor by...
