To whom it may concern:
I just left the Hixson Tennessee location of Aubrey's and feel compelled to write this email. When we entered and were seated in the bar area we looked around and almost left at that point due to all the trash on the floor and the attitude of the workers. We have attached the picture of the area near where we were sitting which is indicative of the entire area and as we left we even noticed silverware under the high tops at the other end of the bar. So, we ordered our meal, which I had the crab cakes, smashed potatoes, and ordered a side salad that I requested come out first while my friend ordered the nachos. My crab cakes arrived without me ever receiving my salad and I told the waitress to please remove the salad at which she looked at me and said okay. I guess a "I am sorry that you did not get your salad", would have gone a long way. My friends nachos looked like a can of chili with nacho can cheese that had been poured over the chips. All the while about 4 servers including what I guess was the manager stood at the end of the bar laughing and talking. One male server walked around with the broom but actually never swept anything up. My potatoes seemed left over from lunch so by this time I am completely finished with my meal and just taking in the scene around me. The bartender decided that she was hot and proceeded to walk over and close the doors to the patio. It is around 5:15 and a great breeze was coming in which really felt comfortable but as the manager ( I guess) walked in she told him she was hot and he never said a word. The other customers that were sitting near the doors were looking around as if what is going on.... As we requested our check the waitress reached down and took my friends beer without asking if she was finished, so my friend asked for it back.
I had high hopes for a different eating establishment in Hixson and have heard great things about the one in Cleveland. The entire time my mind kept thinking, "why didn't I go to Mike's Tavern across the street?" I really hope that the manager or whomever is responsible for this location takes a walk in and shapes up the staff.
Regretfully,
Lesa...

My chicken salad club was good , but the house salad I ordered with it was so poor- limp lettuces, stale potato stix and most of all a balsamic vinegrette that was little more than poor quality balsamic vinegar thinned with a little water- highly acidic and turned the lettuces even darker đ. My server could have cared less about serving me! I came between 2-4pm when there were few customers. I received service as limp as the lettuce in my salad!! Why can't Hixson, TN. have just one nice restaurant with good food, clean counters and tables and enthusiastic, well trained servers?????Does Aubreys owner ever visit stores unannounced?! He/she/they would be unpleasantly surprised if they did!? ------------------------_------+--- Hixson was so exited to get an Aubrey's Restaurant last year (2018). Our area has almost NO upscale places to eat. Aubreys has nice atmosphere, a contemporary style bar and even an attractive outdoor dining area. Menu offers only the usual American bistro items (chicken, steak, salmon, sandwiches, burgers, some nice entree salads, good selection of wine & beers). An unusual and delicious menu item: their chicken salad club, which includes great chicken salad with melted cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato on toasted rustic whole grain bread. Accompanied by a bowl of Aubrey's tomato bisque, it's super comfort food! Wish they would add a few vegetarian entrees. Veggie or black bean burgers and some nachos with vegetarian chili could really plump up their menu in my humble opinion. Service here is haphazard, but some servers are prompt, attentive and personable. Those at the hostess stand don't yet understand what hospitality is about. Most are unsmiling, silent and sloppy. A nice bar should have a great bartender!! Unfortunately there's not one at this bar. Bar staff are slow, self absorbed and lack any professional pizazz. One of the best places Hixson has to offer, but lackluster staff and unimaginative menu lower their...
Read moreThe server unfortunately needs to be taught how to wait tables. We arrived and was seated promptly. The restaurant was a bit warm. The server came after a few minutes and asked for our drink order. I ordered a Corona and water. We were asked if we would like to order an appetizer or would just like bread. She left and came back with two sodas and no water while she waited for my beer at the bar. My beer was brought and we ordered. Still no water. So two of the three entrees that were ordered, additionally ordered a side salad. The salads were brought and I finally asked if I could get the water I had ordered earlier. I kid you not , the second fork full of salad and here comes our entrees. The entrees were brought by other servers. Finally here comes my water. This seems to be a common occurrence this kind of service. We finish our meal she brings us boxes. Then we have to sit and wait for her to bring the check. Where we are seated I can clearly see her standing in the kitchen looking down as if maybe looking at her checks, but occasionally she looks up to talk to another server. We sit and wait for another 9 minutes and she comes out of the kitchen does something at the soda station then goes back into the kitchen. The three of us are not happy by this point the restaurant is very warm the sun has not set yet and we want to go. The bill is finally brought and she leaves again for us to wait for her return. My friends have asked me not to make a scene until after the bill is paid. I'm not going to make a scene but am going to speak to the manager. I did speak to the manager. We did not want free meals. I did want the manager to know her server needs to be re-trained. I was not the one who paid the bill and they did not tip her. So if the manager who was running around working harder then the servers did not correct the actions of the server maybe she will realize the service she gives is the service that is...
