Updating my review after not having been to Buds in a year. The last time we were there, the owner had just passed. I was sad to hear as I've been going out there for so long and seeing him often sitting at the bar or mingling around the place. We went in today around 1pm. It's a Thursday so wasn't expecting it to be packed but it was unusually quiet from what I recall. That was the 1st thing I noticed. Then I noticed there wasn't any music playing either. The waitresses were all as friendly as I remembered and the lady, which I believe her name was Raven. She brought our food out. She was super sweet. Our waitress, was also very sweet, helpful and attentive. She offered my husband a different glass of coke because the one he had tasted flat. He would have never said a word but she was kind enough to ask him how it was due to one of their lines having an issue. I ask what she would recommend between 2 sandwiches & she suggested the fried chicken sandwich!! Let me tell you...it did NOT disappoint either. One of the most tender fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had. It was literally perfect. The chicken on the bun was HUGE so I ended up bringing half home lol we didn't get pics of the pizza but my husband said It was smaller than he remembered and wasnt as good as he remembered but being as he loves pizza he said it was good enough lol he also said that Buds has the best wings hands down! Also, to be honest I was happy it wasn't as loud as in the past. I do regret that they have stopped customers from smoking inside. But it didn't bother us much at all. If I had been drinking, it may have been different but today I only had a sweet tea which was by the way, also perfect. Whoever made the tea today, knows how to make Southern tea!!! If you don't drink alcohol, then this isn't the place for you. I heard really good things about this place and how good the food was from coworkers, so my Husband and I decided to check it out tonight. We were told by our server that the special tonight was oysters. They serve raw oysters or oysters rockefeller, so I ordered oysters rockefeller as an appetizer. Our server even asked if there would be oysters available for oysters Rockefeller and she was told yes that there were over 6 dozen oysters left and their oysters rockefeller consisted of 6 oysters. Fast forward 30 minutes later, my Husband gets his wings and I am still waiting for my patty melt and our oysters rockefeller appetizer. I asked the server who was not our server, but she delivered our food because our server was too busy sitting with the big party behind us and socializing, if the oysters were coming and she said that they were out of oysters to serve us if we were wanting the oysters rockefeller appetizer. Meanwhile, oysters are steadily being served to the other parties around us. My patty melt was overcooked and didn't have cheese on it like the menu stated and the chips that came with it were soggy. We were ignored by our server as she paid more attention to the larger parties and also to parties drinking alcohol. We truly feel like we would have been treated differently had we ordered a decent amount of alcohol like the other parties surrounding us did. But since we only came for the food and drank water, we were pretty much ignored and denied menu items that other parties were privy to. That is okay, we just won't be going...
