I started working at the Five Guys in Hixson when I was 17 years old, and I absolutely loved it there! For a few years anyway. I had been kind of back and forth working there on & off for about 10+ years. This last time I came back, I had just had a baby. So I needed all the hours I could get to try and support me and my child, as a single mom. And unfortunately over the years managment has completely changed. All of the managers are close to 18-19 years old and have no respect for other people. They donāt understand what being a single parent is like, and thatās ok. But I was the ONLY parent (single parent) working there.. but I was also the ONLY person working there that would only get 4 or 5 hours a week. Nobody else had schedules like that. They would refuse me more hours knowing I was struggling as it was. But the teenagers worked as much as they wanted. Thereās a lot of favoritism at this store, and several of the āhigher upā management that are MEN specifically, come in and hit on the young girls that work there. But would barely speak to me. I guess because Iām not 16 years old anymore. A lot of perverts work as the ābig bossesā and youāre just supposed to take this type of treatment. Because no one is willing to help you do anything about it. They have completely changed things since Glenn was there as the store manager years and years ago. I hate that things ended the way they did. Maybe they will get it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had rated this place 5 stars before tonight. A homeless man with hearing and speech issues came in to ask for a burger, with money but not enough, and another man bought him one. When it was ready he asked for "hot potatoes" ... Fries.... They told him it wasn't on the ticket which he didn't understand and so she said no one paid for it so I can't give you any. So he pulled out his dollar and change again and they said that's not enough it's like 5 bucks and you need to leave now.... It's a crowded place at the time and mind you he had food bought from the store so not sure why he had to leave anyhow...but 2, at least 2 - my husband and another woman offered to buy his fries but instead of listening or caring they loudly told him that if he didn't leave they'd call the cops. I understand issues in food service with homeless, and giving away food from a legal standpoint but you could have let several people offering buy the OLD black homeless man fries to go with his burger and that would have been way less disappointing and disruptive then telling him to leave or they'd call the cops. EVERYONE in the store was shocked and for most of us it ruined our appetites, meal, experience... He was not being mean, aggressive, threatening or loud other than what a normal elderly man with hearing issues is. The store really could and should have handled...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCall me when you said I can't give it five stars is that $16 for a hamburger fries and a drink seems a little crazy. But then again that have one of the best chain burgers in the country. Service was fast and friendly and although there was a line that moved super quickly. Food took about four minutes to come out, which is great considering they cook every hamburger to order. There's no way you won't be there full. I love that they have apple cider vinegar for French fries, something undiscovered in Canada and has always enjoyed more than catch him ever since. I love that bad apple cider vinegar for french fries, something I discovered in candidate and has always enjoy more than ketchup ever since. If you feel like throwing health to the wind and just enjoying some amazing comfort food, and don't mind spending a little bit extra for it then this is the place to go. These qualities seem to hold firm across...
