Let me start out by stating that I used to love this place. The food was good and pricing was reasonable. Last night, my boyfriend and I ordered sushi (it was half priced) and a full hibachi chicken to go with an extra side of fried rice. HERE'S WHAT I GOT... I ordered two Oh My God Rolls and one Godzilla Roll and a FULL ORDER of Hibachi Chicken. I get home after paying OVER 40 DOLLARS, I open the bags and this is what I received.. three OMG rolls, a to-go container of ONLY chicken and vegetables (NO RICE) and a side of rice (That was in one of the salad containers so it was maybe 2 cups total)... The sushi made both my boyfriend and I sick, and the rice was like eating sand, very underdone and hard. The chicken was overdone and rubbery and the vegetables were soggy. I paid $16.95 FOR TOUGH CHICKEN AND SOGGY VEGETABLES WITH NO RICE. THEN I paid $1.99 for 2 cups of rice (which my boyfriend and I were planning to split). When I called them after I got home and realized how overcharged I had been, obviously before we started eating, they told me there was nothing they could do. I said that I would bring the food back, they said that they couldn't give me a refund since I had already left the restaurant.. Here's my question... Do I need to double and triple check my meals EVERY TIME that I order something to go? Do I need to open every container and inspect it at the register to make sure the incompetence does not happen again? Or should the restaurant have the integrity to perform a quality food service and run a decent business with integrity and respect for their consumers? All in all, This place has really gone downhill in the last few months, so if your dollar means something to you, go to Ichiban. It's like $2.00 more but the quality is consistent and they...
Read moreNormally I have had no issues here--I have been here maybe two other times. I will NEVER go here again after tonight. We were seated with a family who had a son named Sawyer who was about 8 and INCREDIBLY obnoxious. I will say that I think a huge factor in the experience being bad is that parents need to realize their children are not tiny little Gods who everyone else worship. The hibachi chef knew Sawyer--apparently they bring him there a lot--and all was cool until the kid wanted to toss the egg over his head like the chef had just done, which the chef allowed (and his parents allowed). I was absolutely baffled because I think anyone with any common sense could have seen this was not going to end well. This kid flung the egg full force into the air and it shattered against the vent contraption over the table and flew into my drink, on my shirt, and in my hair. It dripped onto the grill. The chef did at least scrape it off the grill before cooking the rest of our meal. However, I then had raw egg in both my water, my soda, and on my plate. It took awhile for anyone to bring me a drink without raw egg in it. Then when the chef saw I was not having a good time he threw a lemon at me, which only annoyed me further. I get that is the schtick there, and I try to be patient with it, but it's dinner, not a circus and for 20 plus bucks a person it could bare to be less schticky and more focused on the art of the cooking, not pretending to put salt in my drink. Plus, the 6 dollar bowl of seafood soup tasted like the inside of a dirty fish tank. Seriously worst dining...
Read moreWe went for dinner this evening. My husband ordered chicken and steak hibachi (we sat in the dining room not at the hibachi grills). He gets his food and notices the steak is still rare. He lets our waiter know and he takes the food back and gets the steak cooked more. My husband then eats a couple pieces and notices there are still pieces that are noticeably rare (he ordered it medium rare, I’m telling you this steak was not medium rare). The inside of the steak still looked raw. He let the waiter know and he took the food back once more saying it was out of his hands. He then comes back and says they are insisting the steak is medium rare and they have just taken the steak off of our bill. So my husband said oh okay thank you thinking they comped it being nice and were still going to at least bring him his chicken hibachi or I MEAN SOMETHING. We get ready to pay. May I mind by this point our waiter is avoiding our table like the plague. He comes and finally asks if we need boxes or anything and brings our checks over. By this point it had been well over 10 minutes and all my husband had was his sushi. My husband then asked if his food was coming out and if they were remaking it. Our waiter then informs us that when he said they took it off the bill it meant they weren’t remaking the steak… or anything for that matter. Never in my life have I ever heard of a restaurant doing that. It almost seemed as if they got mad at him for sending his food back twice and decided not to remake it out of spite. Fuji in Hixson has officially lost our...
