Mr. T’s…
Man. It’s hard to put into words what that combination of 4 letters, a period, and an apostrophe can do to a man. Over the past several years I’ve struggled to conceptualize what this place, it’s people, and it’s food truly mean to me as an individual, as a human. I keep coming back to one word: home. Mr. T’s is more than just a restaurant; it’s a place where the soul finds comfort and the heart feels welcome. It’s where every bite reminds you that someone cared enough to make it perfect, and every interaction leaves you with a smile you didn’t know you needed. Whether it’s the way the crust crackles on a Pepperoni Pizza, the gooey perfection of their Cheese Sticks, or the unmistakable ecstasy of sharing a Banana Split with friends, the Mr. T’s experience embodies the epidemiological epicenter of life itself. This is what makes Mr. T’s so extraordinary. It’s not just a pizza place. It’s a sanctuary. A second family. And every single time I walk through those doors, I feel like I’ve come home. I could go into heavy detail. And I will. And I will go into heavy detail. Picture this: you’ve had a hard day at work. Feeling overwhelmed and disheartened, you make your way to the only place you feel safe: Mr. T’s. As you approach you notice the beautiful new white marble (made to look like bricks for humility reasons) lighting up the exterior. You can’t help yourself and experience a smile excommunicate across your face. You also notice the beautiful facade of the ice cream cone which protrudes almost out of sight from the human eye. You wonder once more what it would taste like.. You enter in the front door and are immediately greeted by each employee. They have never met you before, but they each greet you with your first and last name and a beaming smile. You feel truly seen. You go to place your order, and find that each item is cheaper than anything you have ever purchased before in your entire life. You decide to purchase one of each item on the menu, a no brainer! As soon as you swipe your card your food is instantly delivered to you by the most ecstatic and indefatigable individuals you have ever seen. They tell you: “Have a fantastic day, do come see us again Mr./Mrs. [your name here]” You give them a nod and smile in your soul, knowing you will indeed see them again, every day for the rest of...
Read moreI don’t know what’s going on on night shift but somehow they’re losing orders! I wasn’t the only one!!! As you can see on the photo I called in and ordered at 8:33pm. I called again to let them know I was about to pull up because there was traffic to please not lock the doors! The guy was nice on the phone! But once I got there the young ladies couldn’t find my order in the system! They asked one of the guys. At first he said “I remember that order. I made it what did I do with it” he was looking all around for it! Then he said oh I thought you were someone else calling to leave the door unlocked! Another lady came to the counter to tell them she had ordered a gluten free pepperoni pizza! They couldn’t find her in the system either! So then they just act like we never ordered! I showed them their number in my phone even called in front of them! He finally told them to take our orders! I asked if they were offering anything for free since they don’t have our orders! At first the mixed girl act like she was about to get an attitude talking about “well technically we’re closed and don’t have to take your order” I said well ma’am I ordered 30 minutes ago! She then said well that’s a Nate question! He said No!!! So we all proceeded to order AGAIN! How in the world are you losing people’s orders and don’t even appreciate that customers are driving all the way across town passing thousands of restaurants to spend money at your business and just give us your tales to kiss! Also I paid for extra cheese but you could see the red sauce through the cheese! It still tastes good like back in the days but unfortunately the service sucks on night shift! I was sooo excited to go because I haven’t been in over 10 years! Never again! They should’ve at least offered a fountain drink or something for the mixup… not even an...
Read moreI have eaten here at least once or twice a week since 1991 because the food is great, the prices are right, the service is excellent, and everyone is welcome at Mr. T's.
This tradition is continuing under new leadership after Tyler and Kim Gray recently sold Mr.T's to Eddy and Carlee Hilger.
There is no need to panic. The Hilgers not only have good intentions of continuing to build on the excellent foundation they are receiving, they also have proven ability developed both during previous work in the food service industry, including helping start Clumpies, and from their work starting and leading Hilger Higher Learning.
Another thing you don't need to panic about is the small parking lot beside the building. You can park in the Food City lot behind Mr.T's and come down the wooden steps to Mr.T's. To get to the top of the wooden stairs, if you were facing Mr.T's you would go left to the traffic light and turn right. As soon as you enter the Food City parking lot immediately turn right and follow that edge of the lot to the stairs.
Mr.T's always has excellent employees. Tyler and Kim have helped a multitude of young people make a good start into their working life and onto the road of adulthood.
Sometimes there may be loud children at Mr.T's, but there are almost never any loud cursing adults. They do not serve alcohol.
If you try Mr.T's, I believe you...
