Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Chehalis

I have eaten at Applebee's all over the Pacific Northwest. There are minor variations at each one, but I have come to expect the same delicious coffee at every single one. Until I visited the Chehalis Applebee's. It smelled like Applebee's coffee, which usually takes 2 creams to lighten a mug full. Here, 1 cream was too much for a mug full. It was so weak, it wasn't even the right color. Undrinkable. I finally had to call the server from the tabletop gizmo to get anyone's attention. The order-taker gave us a choice of waiting for another pot to be brewed (we had already waited 10 minutes to get the first undrinkable mug) or have it removed from the bill. We opted for the latter.

After waiting way too much longer for our Classic burgers with fries, the manager finally delivered our plates. The burgers had been hot at one time, because the cheddar was melted, but they were barely warm when finally served. The fries were even cooler. I couldn't even finish half of my cold burger. When the manager came by to see if everything was okay, I told her it seemed that Applebee's wasn't having a good day.

I paid by credit card from the tabletop gizmo and requested a printed receipt. When the order-taker eventually came by the table to ask if we wanted boxes for our leftovers, I asked her for the receipt and she eventually brought it. And no, we didn't want boxes.

All this happened just before noon on a Monday. Only about a third of the tables were occupied and there were plenty of employees wandering around, so no excuse for such slow service.

After leaving, we went directly to the Market Street Bakery & Cafe for some good coffee and pastries to get the taste out of our mouths. In hindsight, we should have gone there for lunch in the first place.

I live about halfway between the Applebee's in Chehalis and the one in Longview. From now on, when I get a craving for Applebee's, it will be the one in Longview, where there is always good service, no matter how...

All of the food was very sweet, we couldn't finish it. I ordered the four cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders. It was pretty much just plain noodles and chicken nuggets with honey poured over the whole thing, and did not resemble the picture at all. Kinda just tasted exactly like a Maple bacon donut. We also ordered the rainbow lemonade, it was very sweet lemonade with a rainbow candy haphazardly thrown on top. I recommend eating The candy first bc it breaks down in the acidic liquid and takes on a gross soggy texture. (To Applebee's: If you want a fun rainbow lemonade drink, may I recommend some rainbow sugar on the rim of the glass instead, so it mixes well with the drink, or propping the rainbow candy on a toothpick) The appetizer platter was the best part but it's really gone down in quality. It was supposed to come with garlic parmesan chicken wings but it was just chicken nuggets with maybe some garlic powder on it. The cheese on the mozzaralistics and quesadillas we're not melted anymore, I'm assuming because they brought it out kind of late. The spinach dip was very hot and tasty, I'm assuming they put it on last.

The staff was very back and forth with their friendliness, snapping at us, acting overly nice to make up for it, then rolling their eyes and walking away if we didn't say that everything was perfect. I should add we tried to be as friendly as possible bc it was probably just a busy night for them. We didn't complain about anything until they asked us why we didn't want to box the food we didn't eat and we were honest with them about the quality. They just stormed off and brought us the check. Carpet was full of crumbs and food, trash bags left by the front door. Silverware was spotty, and it was difficult to get basic things like small plates for our appetizers and napkins. Hello yesterday I went to eat dinner by myself self, and I ask to be seated at the bar, I sat there for a while the server asked for my drink, I told her that I don’t have a menu, then she brought me the menu and while I was reading the menu and other guests came and sat at the bar as well, I wait around 10 minutes waiting for the server, she was talking for all that time with those customers, finally she decided to ask for my drink and the other customer drinks by the way I am Hispanic and the customer sitting in the bar was Hispanic too, then she brought my drink and I ask for onion soup to start, she was so busy that I guess she forgot about my soup then a guy brought it and it was cold like it was sitting in the kitchen for long time, the restaurant was not busy at all then later 2 customers arrived an sat at the bar in front of me and they got served right away, of course they were Caucasian then she ask for my food order I order The Cajun Salmon an it took a while for the manager to bring my salmon then an other 6 customers arrive and she served them at the instantly their drinks, and of course they were Caucasian, this is not the first time that she does that I have come on the past and she is a rude server her name is Nerissa S, in the past she had told me that she is cleaning and she is going a take forever for her to serve you, she seems like she ham a racism problem, I feel very disappointed I hope you guys put more attention to those kind of people, you don’t want a come back and feel descriminated😞 you can check the cameras from 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm that I left.
