Horrible appliance return policy. I would not advise anyone to purchase appliances from Home Depot. They have a 48-hour return policy and will not budge on it. You should have appliance repair expertise in order to identify any defect in your purchase quickly, otherwise you're flat out of luck. They sold us a defective refrigerator and expected us to identify the problem in the fan/cooling motor during those 48 hours. Since the freezer was working terrifically and shooting cool air into the fridge, we had no idea the fan motor was defective. About a week later, ice dams built inside and the cool air stopped coming into the fridge so we returned to Home Depot to get some answers. When my husband questioned the salesman about this, he said we should have known the fan was broken. Now I don't know about you, but I had no idea I was supposed to go into the back workings of my fridge to examine the fan motor and the channels from which the air flows through. (The manufacturer's repairman agreed with us on this. He had to come out twice to get our fridge working over the holidays. It wasn't fun going without a fridge with my two very small toddlers who still wake up in the middle of the night for bottles of milk.) So they would not allow us to return the fridge for an identical model or pay extra for an upgrade, even though only 30 days had passed. My husband had just arrived home from an 8-month military deployment in a combat zone when the fridge stopped working. We decided to buy three brand new appliances from Chehalis, WA Home Depot at that time. The contractors they hired to deliver the appliances told some possible lies and blamed the miscommunication on Home Depot. Home Depot blamed it on the contractors and directed us to keep calling them. A reputable business should go after its hired contractors if they have poor customer service or lack the skills necessary to assemble a product accurately. We weren't informed that said contractors would not install the dishwasher. They said Home Depot had to figure that out. Home Depot said the contractors had to arrange that. The contractors told us an electrician or a plumber could install it, but Home Depot did not support the notion that an electrician could hook the darn thing up. The fridge was not installed correctly but my husband tried his best to fix it himself, rather than get in-touch with the contractor from Renton or Everett or somewhere by Seattle, and wait two weeks for them to come back to fix what they had done. In any case, we are taking our business elsewhere from now on. Not just appliances but everything related to home repair, remodeling, etc. Our family, friends and co-workers in the area are equally outraged at how we were treated with the refrigerator issue. They will probably think twice before supporting the...
Read moreI ordered flooring here, they had an amateur come do my floor, everything needed to be redone. The flooring wasn't snapped together, the molding was all cut short & was filled in with caulking. They refused to fix it with very thuggish people (Mitchell Johnson at home Depot & Jeffrey from romanoff flooring) they refused to look down at it, look at pictures I sent & continued to tell me they will not fix it. I finally asked them to get an inspection done, they did that & when it came back, Michelle told me it said nothing was wrong with the floor, they paid for the inspection so there was no way I could see it. I tried desperately to get them to fix it for 6 months, I found this to be a robbery of $9000. as the floor kept falling apart. They refused again & again to fix it. Finally I called the flooring manufacturer to come & inspect it to make sure I would have my warranty with a botched install. To my surprise it was the same guy that did the inspection before. He said "wow I can't tell you about the first inspection but I am shocked they didn't fix your floor & you will receive a duplicate of the inspection in a few weeks". It showed all the problems clearly, home depot & Romanov flooring robbed me, I don't know how else to put it. It has been 8 months now & I still need flooring. Warning : Nobody should ever use home depot or Romanov flooring ever. Every floor that guy did needed to be replaced&when I asked the manager trying to finally help me if there are others like me, she hesitated & said "well not exactly the same". I think I'm going to call the police & file a report as soon as I get my money back, BBB & anyone else I can think of. I can't let this go if more people are going thru this. I haven't had a good night's sleep in months, lost 40lbs I didn't need to lose. I had to buy heaters for all my things in the garage, buy new clothes for winter because I can't get to my things, it has really effected every part of my life. Money isn't easy to get & being robbed of $9000 I have saved up for being stolen from home Depot is disgusting & I'm not the only one. Don't go unless you can afford a lawyer to help you get...
Read moreScratched and dented fridge. Although minor still annoying. I was going to let it go but they installed the range incorrectly and refused to make it right. All they needed to do was bring out a longer cord and rotate the range but they refused.
They told me that I need to purchase the cord and wait (2-6 weeks) for the fridge to come and they'd fix it. As the range was unusable in it's position this was unacceptable. They apparently can't bring out a cord themselves.
No. I have to take the existing cord back myself, get the new one, and then wait with a completely unusable appliance until they come out to replace the fridge. Guess what's worse? I ordered these for my renter so making him wait (2-6 weeks to have a way to cook food) is unacceptable.
Now I have to dismount the range from the wall, risk being shocked and waste half of my day so my renter can have a useable range.
Because of their bureaucratic nonsense they have a very unhappy customer who has to take time out of work to fix it myself. Good one guys!
Not only that, instead of just replacing the cord with the correct length and having someone come out they're going to have to replace a slightly cosmetically damaged fridge. Ah, bureaucracy at it's finest. Instead of spending $30 on a cord and hiring someone to fix it, now I put them on the hook for a $800 fridge because they won't play ball.
I will never purchase appliances from them again. Why? If there's a problem, they are incapable of making it right in a reasonable timeframe with a reasonable solution. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
Worst customer experience I've EVER had. Still haven't been reached out to by a customer service agent regarding my...
