I asked if they had iced tea. I was told 'yes'. I was served a cup of room temperature water with a teabag of green tea. The tea had not even been steeping; just a cup of water with a tea bag. I ordered a croissant; the croissant was wrapped in a plastic bag; it did not look as if it had recently come out of the oven. Indeed it was dry, tough, lacked flavor. The prices were low. I think these glowing reviews are for a different version of this cafe.
The atmosphere: a very large TV screen playing Spanish dance scenes with very loud music. We asked for the sound to be turned down (we were the only customers), and the server did so. Which helped.
My companion ordered a chicken empanada. She took one bite and set it aside.
Perhaps there are new owners since all these two-year old rave reviews...
