I had to update this review from 4 years ago to now include this INCREDIBLE brewery addition. The original BBQ sauce review is below the dotted line.
I attended the opening the the Bills Best Brewery - nothing short of incredible. The quality of their own craft brewing is some of the best in the region, as is their commitment to providing patrons with space that is a place you'd want to hang out for a while and get to know your neighbor, whether you are a family with kids or someone coming out from the city on the train (the Glenside Train station is but 2 blocks away).
More in depth reviews:
Beer: Solid Solid in house lineup of their own beer, with a decent selection of PA beers (some I hadn't heard of, yet was pleasantly surprised at the commitment of Bills Best to providing QUALITY beers from PA).
Food: I mean, cmon. You already have one of the Best BBQ sauces in the country, and now you are using that on house made pulled pork sandwiches? It's a no-brainer. This stuff is awesome. They do have salads and other sides, so yes...this isn't necessarily a restaurant - however, it's also much more than just a chips/pretzles and beer place.
Atmosphere: From the warm decor to perfect amount of light provided by strung bistro lights - it's just right. Topping out at 54 seats, it's cozy, yet not a hole in the wall. Rumor is there will be outdoor seating soon as well.
Staff: Super friendly, super knowledgeable about beer as well, which is fun to pick Jason's brain about the background of beer, and of their beer as well. They are passionate.
An amazing BBQ sauce, made by some amazing individuals. You won't be disappointed by what comes out of these doors, from grilling, to dipping, to innovating...BBQ sauce can be used for more than just ribs and...

When new breweries open, many spend the first few months (or few batches) finding their niche - IPAs, German beers, stouts. So I often give new places the "benefit of the doubt" if their beers are less than perfect and visit a few months later to see what has changed.
No need to do that with Bill's Every beer I tasted was EXCELLENT! From juicy, light IPAs like Simple Equation, to Mandarina drinks like a sweet, Belgian-French hybrid. Not a bad brew on tap!
Food menu is limited, but sandwiches were tasty. The building itself is small and there weren't many seats to be found on the Thursday I visited.
A suggestion - get some signage outside for advertising! Don't let any more people drive by without tasting this beer - best in the area, on par with many of the bigger, well-established...
Read moreWe enjoyed the food and craft beer at Bill’s. The Last Resort Imperial Porter did not disappoint and the food from Moshava food truck greatly exceeded expectations! I’m still thinking of the roasted brussels sprouts with lemon yogurt sauce and hoping to be able to re-create them so that I don’t have to chase down Moshava all over Philadelphia! However, being realistic, I’m sure I can’t make them anywhere near as good. For the main dish, I got the pita with eggplant because I wanted to try something different, and it was worth it. Arriving at 5 PM there were still plenty of places to sit. When we first arrived, the music was really loud so we realized that it was wise not to have invited our hearing-impaired friend. Just saying in case this is important to...
