I go to this particular Chili's all the time with my bestie since she lives close by. Normally, the food is good for a franchise and the wait staff, cooking and overall experience was a plus.
But let me tell you Friday was the worst experience ever.
My two friends and I got there at 5:30. It took the waitress until 5:55 to take our order. It wasn't super crowded but it wasn't packed either so that was the first issue. We were gonna order drinks first, chat then have a meal, since my friend had to be somewhere else by at least 7:00.
But since the waitress came over twenty-five minutes into our being there, we decided to order everything at once to save time. Not to mention the table was super dirty and rickety.
We ordered an alcoholic beverage, water and my meal was the three for ten so it came with lemonade. The waitress decides to serve folk who had gotten there way after, us their drinks. She brought out everyone else's apps in her section and we were like, "Wow..."
At 6:20, almost an hour into being there, we got our drinks. Well, everyone's else got their water and drink. I just got water.
The appetizers come at 6:40 and one meal. For the friend who had to leave. She was so late she called an Uber instead of driving because she didn't want to waste time looking for parking. So we didn't even get to share a meal together. As for my other friend who ordered the burger with the avacado, the waitress screwed up her order not once, not twice, but like three times. Meaning she did not eat until 7:30.
Meanwhile my meal was great. Never got my Daq, but that's because the waitress forgot to add it. She was too busy screwing up my friend's order. In place of that we got a Blue Moon. But after just one glass of that, they were out. So we got Bud Limes.
By 8:30 after three hours we had enough when the waitress tried to charge us for drinks we never had, two meals that were never eaten and appetizers that were under cooked. The waitress wasn't rude but she acted like we were being extra when we were very polite but firm.
Thankfully, the manager Naya was very competent and cut our bill in half and was very sorry for everything. She agreed our service had been trash. What a class act and she is the only reason why I gave this once fine establishment a three instead of 1. Keep her, ditch...
Read moreIt's always a hit or miss with this place but today I think will be the last time to this location. We were told we had to wait for 25 minutes with multiple tables open becuase the chef's could not keep up with half capacity. When we were seated we waited for almost 15 minutes before our server came and took our order. After that a whole fight between a group of customers broke out and the staff didnt even seem bothered by it not caring about the customers there. We got one salad and a plate of chips and then waited and I am not exaggerating OVER AN HOUR for our food. There were 2 more booths filled ahead of us. One couple was waiting EVEN LONGER THAN WE WERE. They managed to get their food but to my "amazement" their food was incorrect. The other booth was never even greeted at their table or given a rollup and and after about 15 minutes they walked out. Needless to say, we followed in suit, clocking in an hour and a half at chilis with 2 side salads and a bowl of chips to say goodbye to. (At least we didnt pay for it with their permission) The entire time I saw the staff at war with each other from the wings, a manager who was supposed to come talk to us yet never did, and a group of 6 table who "miraculously" got their food minutes after they had been seated while our entire section was waiting patiently. Our server was nice (I felt bad that we got agitated with her) and the host was lovely, along with a bald man from another section. Those 3 were the only redeeming things of tonight, but sadly, I dont think they were enough to make me want to come back. I used to always pick this place over the jenkintown location. But I think the tables...
Read moreWe really despise coming to this location (Cheltenham) due to poor service we experienced a couple of yrs ago. It was so bad we left & went to the 1 on Old York Road & that's where we've been enjoying our Chili's meal. I've had problems there, but the way the manager corrected it made us want to return. My husband & I was going to our usual Chili's when we noticed they shut down (we were wondering why the parking lot was empty). Due to having a gift card we had to go to the 1 n Cheltenham. It's been over a year since we at there & they r consistent w/ poor service. Our waitress wasn't really attentive. I ordered the Texas Fries & usually ALWAYS get 2 extra plates w/o asking. We ordered non-alcoholic drinks & it took them too long to bring out...we've both finished our appetizers (soup) b4 we got our drinks. My husband & I ordered the SAME EXACT meal (the Alfredo pasta w/ the chicken). It seem like forever b4 our food came out. As I'm cutting my chicken my husband realized they never added the chicken to his pasta. 1 thing we hate to do is complain then have to send our food back or order something else. If we have to complain, we wait until the end. Pray fully they didn't do anything to his meal. Btw our waitress NEVER apologized for the inconvenience. I eventually asked for the manager & got a free dessert which I didn't want or need. What we wanted & deserved was $ off. I still tipped, but not as much as I would of if the service was great. Right now I can't see us returning. Btw the food was delicious (chili, loaded potatoe soup, Texas Fries &...
