Very very disappointed to say the least I understand they closed at 12am however I arrived at 10:45 and it took about 10 mins for waiter to arrive to take my order for her was busy chatting with other tables. Once he arrived to my table he was able to give me some suggestion regarding drink an food. My food literally came to be in less than 5 mins however it hardly was anything in my seafood boil, no sauce nothing about 4 shrimp were in my boil an a very small crab cluster, I also order on the happy hour menu and decide to take the mini crab bite and they taste like cardboard I haven’t been to hook in sometime as it seems like they have changed quite a bit. Upon me beginning to eat my food more guest were coming in however the staff began cleaning right next to me a table that had already been dirty upon my arrival. The staff then began looking at me in rage as if he wanted me to hurry up and eat my food, the server than came over and was in a way implementing that he needed me to hurry an im letting him know I was doing a review as he continues to say he has to clock out. I also looked around an thier are guest enjoying there food while they are continuing to rush me from my table. After about 10 mins the staff comes back over an he asks me did I have anything planned tonight an I said no an he said well I do so hurry up. Now I would take that as a joke however no other guest was approached as such and I continue to remind him of that, I then paid and the staff that was cleaning continued to slam tables next to me while there were multiple tables to clean beside the ones next to me. I did not enjoy my food, was rushed to eat, the portion of food was disappointing and the food was distasteful, the drink I can say was the only thing that was satisfying an I couldn’t even finish that i understood that yall were closing soon but im a paying customer if i sat down to eat food i should be able to do as such. I paid a total of $40 and it was not worth it and I will not be returning.

I informed him that it was my first time there and if it's not noted on the menu they can't charge the gratuity. He said that 15% is the customary gratuity amount and that they have to pay the waitress, the hostess, the bus boys, etc. I don't mind leaving a tip but I don't want the amount of tip I give dictated because I tip based on service and then not to have been informed of this in advance is just wrong. I have posted a picture of where the gratuity sign is located at the desk and I also enlarged it so you can read it because where it's placed at it's not posted close enough to read it. It's actually behind the desk taped to a file cabinet or something. IN RESPONSE YO THE RESTAURANT: AGAIN MY ISSUE IS THAT YOU'RE NOT LETTING PEOPLE KNOW THERE'S A 15% GRATUITY ADDED TO THE TICKET. MOVE THE SIGN AND PUT IT ON THE DESK (NOT BEHIND IT) AND DEFINITELY ADD IT TO THE MENU AS WELL.

I kindly advised him to remove the meal to what he said "Ill remove but also take the rest" which is not what we wanted to do bc the any other option would be to wait for another boil bag, Richard came back after taking the food to the chef and said it was a hair from the mussels, wrong again, so anyways the fact that Richard was unwilling to comp out a meal and the fact that he tried to gaslite the fact that they were hairs, Rich made it clear that his 25 years of chef experience outweighs the actual eye physical proof that they were hairs, next time be better and comp out the meal and you can avoid a bad review also filing a complaint with Joyce the owner and corporate, so when you go to Hook and Reel in Cheltenham Mall check your food for Mussel and Shrimp hairs...smh. UPDATE: picture is attached just in case theres any doubt better off going to the one in Roosevelt Blvd

My partner and I would go to Hook and Reel about 2 to 3 times a week. We loved it here and became very familiar and friendly with the staff that worked at the establishment including the manager . On a Recent trip sitting at the bar, the bartender excused us from paying for our food and told us that he was only going to charge us for our drinks. My girlfriend insisted that we pay and he told us not to worry about it. My partner and I came back just a few days later only to be approached by another bartender and manager saying that we walked out on the previous check . It did not occur to us there were two bartenders taking our order, and The guy was being slick by not putting the food on His customer list but the other bartender added our food which led to her coming up short with her earnings for the day. My partner and I have both worked in food/customer service so we would not want anyone to experience that .The owner was “unable to bring up the receipt” of us paying for our drinks Which is pretty much impossible and just laziness on his part. He clearly did not look at the cameras to confirm the situation that actually occurred. My girlfriend explained to the manger their poor choice of hire lied and that we could show on our bank statements that we did pay for the drinks. He was sarcastic and still tried to charge us for the food which we ended up paying for Because we did not need to be further humiliated than we already were after he came out with walk out written in large letters on a the check with a flashlight for us to look at .There was no accountability the bartender who lied on us had to take. My girlfriend also filed a complaint and was told by the manager that large tips do not cover unpaid for food. Customers should not be responsible for bartenders excusing items on a bill. It is their responsibility to hire people who do steal from their establishment . Meanwhile he probably still continues to have a job there. It was very disappointing as we always went there . My partner and I are not the kind of people that would even consider running out on a bill nor would we have to hence why we asked for a corrected bill with the drinks off of it . It was humiliating to say the least and not smart on their part to think we would come back into an establishment And sit in the front with a tab that we just walked out on three days ago. We will not be going back and will take up...

I have been here for the past two years and I’ve had great experiences except today you think that because it was memorial day they’d be nicer but no, they were absolutely rude. Our server’s name was Tyanna and she didn’t even come over and greet us probably she said “do y’all want to get started” like obviously? I ordered a ginger ale, my friend next to me order a CHERRY Pepsi and my other friend order a Diet Pepsi and we ordered our food. Both of friends had asked for ramen noodles in their seafood boils. She brings us the drinks, and my friend did not get a cherry Pepsi she got a normal Pepsi. Then our seafood boils come out and both of my friends did not get Ramen noodles. They got spaghetti noodles, which is also on the menu. She was obviously upset because that’s not what she ordered. We call our server over and tell her that these are not the noodles we wanted She clearly did not care because she lied to us and said that their “Chinese noodles” this isn’t even a Chinese place so what…. We’re visibly upset so we call a manager over, the manager is somewhat nice. He apologizes on her behalf because she hasn’t been there in a while. I’m guessing she just came back from college. Then he says that he will take the noodles off our bill and puts in an order of ramen noodles. After we’re done eating, we get our bill and the noodles are still on the bill so we speak to our server and ask her why they’re still on the bill. She said “they’re not” when they clearly are. Then the manager comes over and tells us that he took the noodles off but still charged us for the wrong noodles?Makes absolutely no sense. When our server comes to hand us extra bags she scared my friend and when my friend laughs and says “you scared me” she gave her a dirty look.
