J.Jill — Local services in Cherry Hill Township

I've lived and shopped in Cherry Hill for the past 15 years. And, I've shopped in JJill many times in the past. Until yesterday I've only ever had rave reviews for this store.

Yesterday was an exception. It was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had in all my years of buying clothes. Shopping is not one of my favorite things. You see, I hate to shop so much that when I do it's usually a last minute purchase for something that's happening the next day.

Because I shop only when needed, I have a laser focus, looking for a style that I know will work for me. So, basically I'm in and then I'm out. Yesterday's shopping experience at JJill was horrible! I was literally followed around the store from the time I entered until the time I made a purchase.

One sales associate made me feel so uncomfortable. She wasn't there to help me with styles or sizing, I believe she shadowed me because of my race. Not once did she offer to place the items I had selected in the dressing room, as is customary, but she hung back to watch my every move. If I turned left, she did. If I turned right, she did as well. She even pretended to be on the phone rather than asking if I needed assistance to move in closer when I neared the door to look at a display.

Yesterday's experience was so very unsettling for me. What I remember most after leaving the store last night is that I regretted making a purchase and that I will not return to shop at JJill again....

This was my first time there. The clothes are of good quality. There was a very nice selection of clothes. The sales people were so nice and very helpful. They were not pushy at all. The clothes are a bit pricey but because the quality is so good and the clothes they sell you don’t see at other places I don’t mind...
