From my yelp review:

I crunched on what was most likely a roach today. That was definitely the worst part of the experience, but what didn't help was that the lady that took our order spent a really long time trying to justify it by telling me it wasn't cooked. She kept trying to explain that had it been cooked, the parts would have disintegrated.

They also spent some time trying to tell me that it wasn't a roach, just a bug that they had seen flying around. "It must have just gotten in there recently." There was absolutely no 3/4 inch roach looking bug flying anywhere near me while I was eating.

First of all, I hope to god that it was cooked for a good long while. Second, whether or not the bug has been cooked isn't really the issue. The issue is that it was in my mouth, and at the very least they should apologize like crazy and our meal should be comped. They ended up just comping my jjajangmyun and my husband payed the bill because he wanted to get the heck out of the restaurant.

To anyone who eats here, beware. There might be a roach in your food, and the owners act like it isn't a big deal.

(As a side note, the owners said their jjajangmyun sauce is made in one batch in the morning, and spent an awfully long time trying to convince me the bug was fresh. I can't imagine a bug that size getting in my food while scooping or during the trip to the table. I can only assume it was simmered in the sauce, and I'm betting they didn't dump it and make a new batch for the rest of the day.)

ALSO, Insuk Han's wangssagaji comment...

Came here for the very first time today. Yes it feels like you’re eating at a grandma’s house, with the expectation of getting a warm feeling and cozy meal from a nice grandma. I was by myself. A little while after I arrived, there were two men that came. I ordered before them and waited for about 20 mins, however, the men’s food and side dishes were given to them first, whereas I had not been given anything even though I arrived first. When my food finally came, I quickly finished one of the side dishes, as I was hungry and had waited a long time. When I asked for one more of the side dish (the one with the salty fish, on the top right of the picture), she lied about it and would not give more. She said, “No more today. No more of that. You finished it.” When I wanted to wash my hands, apparently someone was in the restroom, so this grandma directed me to use the sink outside of the restroom. Right across from the sink was a whole (more than half-filled) batch of the side dish that I asked for. When I said, “oh you have some,” she said, “oh they just made it, they just made it. No more for you.” So….. it was not a nice feeling to be lied to, to feel like you’re not deserving of just a side dish. This restaurant definitely just lost at least one customer. There are other establishments with just as good food if not better that would give what the customer asks for, not lie to a customer, especially when it’s just about one side dish. I would not recommend...

Picture it: It's 98° outside and it's humid. The hot wind is making you feel like you're in a hot tub with clothes on. You just want a bowl of cold beef broth with noodles. This is your place.

The place is totally unassuming. It's next to a nail shop in a tiny plaza. The sign looks like it's seen better days but that's why I knew I had made it. It was about 130 in the afternoon, and I hadn't eaten lunch. Two of my coworkers were with me, one of which, spoke Korean. We came in and a really pleasant older woman sat us. She eventually came over and my coworker ordered something in Korean that was apparently written on the wall on a star but not in the menu, and we picked something out of the menu. My shu mai were good, nothing too special but it's ok. My cold beef noodle was so delicate and delicious. They brought out the spicy mustard that usually accompanies this dish and I couldn't have been any happier. The dish felt like "my mom" had made it. Not MY mom because she can't cook Korean, but somebody's mom who was standing in for mine. The dish was nicely chilled and plated. I ate the entire thing.

The prices were appropriate and we will be returning regularly I feel. This place deserves the love repaid, that it puts out on...

K-drama fans, this feels like it could be your secret spot. The kind of restaurant that not many people have been to, but one that you'd recommend to your friend to impress them with a "hole-in-the-wall" local experience. The food is delicious and comes in good amounts and all at a fair price. Taking a look around at the other patrons, it certainly feels authentic. I've gone there a few times and have hardly heard a word of English from the staff or the customers. Love it! If you're looking for a more authentic slice of Korea here in South Jersey, this is the place to go to. Are there other Korean restaurants? Certainly! There seem to be more and more every day. But for me, this is the one that makes me feel like I'm back in a small shop in Korea.
