Stopped over the area recently for the first time in a while. I saw the Guitar Center, though that was not my intended destination. I had been headed to Sam Ash. Confused and wondering if they likely just relocated. To my shock and surprise it appears that Sam Ash was gone! Permanently closed for good! Wow! So unfortunate. Especially considering that Guitar Center still remains. The last time and basically every time I have been to this Guitar Center I unfortunately always ended up leaving disappointed and underwhelmed to say the least. Although I did continue to stop in here and there over the years, hoping for a positive experience. To my dismay and disappointment though expected, since never was that the case and only felt it worsened with each visit over the years. The energy had a cold almost snobbish and uninviting vibe, in a sorta comical way. Staff came across as if they "knew it all" and on a very surface level would appear to be knowledgeable...but they just were rude unwelcoming and infact failed to posses the knowledge they seemed to want to portay with their kinda snobish and dismisive attitude. Fact of the matter is the place feels more like a factory packaged fancy looking facade. Ran by a group of "used car salemen"...yet another souless cash grab that will sell you whatever they can just to get you to spend the most $ possible and then some. While yes it is a business. There's a difference in kinds of businesses and what makes a great business in my opinion are those that go further than just looking at their customers as $$$..A great business will have a vibe that makes their customers feel like a part of a club or community where they are welcoming, respectful and honest but in a way where they want to offer insight and knowledge to their customers in areas where they may be lacking. Its that personal touch, where they take note and remember you and that you remember them. Getting to know their customers better with each visit. A place that makes you want to come back, share ideas, thoughts, and even possibly collaborate with one another both employees and fellow customers. A community, that brings together all types of individuals. Where friendships are formed that may possibly end up being the start of greater things ahead that change add to or possibly change the musical world in ways one never would have thought. Or just a place you go knowing each experience is going to be that, an experience. A positive lasting mark that will be remembered for a lifetime. Guitar Center, atleast not this one. Definitely is a stark contrast to that. Unfortunately, what used to be much more common. That personal touch, genuine customer service, the experience...has all but vanished. Online ordering and curbside pickups of cheaply made products that once used to be great. Names and business alike...sold out and doluted to an almost unrecognizable version of the former, the names may remain the same but that really is all that remains. Sam Ash..may not have been exactly what I described, but it was MUCH closer to that of ANYTHING I have experienced at Guitar Center. Unfortunate as a whole is an...
Read moreOverall disappointing but had fun. So I was looking for a 50s Les Paul. I took home a classic and the thing hummed beyond belief zero bucking. They had a another transferred same issue. So I said I’ll pay more for a standard. Come to find out the pickups are the same 61 pickups. I did play the guitar and it’s okay but I kept asking about the one with the Gibson tuners and the guy told me it was a 60s standard. Come to find out that was the 50s standard. The store manager is awesome, he had the classic set up nice for me. He can play... good dude. But he’s not always there. I picked up a cry baby on the way out the second time. I just wanted a 50s standard Les Paul and basically traded the one I bought for the same guitar with less features. I’m also pretty sure its used. It didn’t have the Gibson tool or the replacement truss rod cover.maybe it’s a return. Which is fine but I’m just a little disappointed I wanted the 57 or 59 warmer sounding pickups and now I’m stuck with basically the same guitar I walked out with. I was going to buy a PA system on the way out but all the waiting just made me take the guitar take a quick look at pa”s and get out of there. Partially my fault I should have made him pull the tobacco burst off the wall but he kept saying it’s probably a 60s and this was my second time trying to return a guitar that constantly hums. So I wanted to wait until the end of this to post an honest review. Do your research on how to identify the guitar you want before you go. I was googling in the store. Another guy was googling. Know your stuff before you get left with a cool guitar instead of a warm guitar. After the first two times I’m just gonna keep this I guess. My AFD epiphone honestly...
Read moreGood experience at guitar center, because everybody at the store goes over & above the service of other stores in the area mainly cause they will actually care & help if you have an issue that maybe is a bit of an ordeal to resolve compared to the other store right down from them. The manager at guitar center & the head repair guy have always gone out of thier way to help me with any issues I have had. They aren't all full of themselves like some people at other places? That is how it should be? To be helped not ignored or not have questions answered properly or at all? Not just looking to sell a high dollar instrument to fatten up thier paychecks. Customer satisfaction is thier goal & that is absolutely the way it should be as a customer anywhere not just at guitar center but anyplace your spending hard earned cash at. Can go to guitar center all in concern & leave with a smile on your face & money left in your pocket unlike some other local musical instrument stores & in my opinion is a priceless thing to have security & peace of mind about spending hard earned money or having a concern resolved so that you aren't wondering if all you did was waste your time or your money & leave the store with peace of mind. Isn't that how it should be? I think yes is absolutely how it should be as a paying customer? I definitely give the Guitar center in Cherry Hill 2 thumbs up & reccomend people to go there & see what they can do to make your experience for musical needs a try cause think you"ll be...
