Buffalo Wild Wings, Norfolk: A Solid Game Day Go-To Buffalo Wild Wings in Norfolk reliably delivers on its promise: a lively sports bar atmosphere paired with a vast array of wings. While it might not be a gourmet experience, it's a consistently good option for catching a game, enjoying some casual eats, and soaking in the energy. My recent visit earned a solid four stars for hitting the mark on what it aims to be. The main draw, of course, is the wings, and they generally don't disappoint. On this visit, I went with a classic order of traditional wings in a medium heat and also ventured into the "Asian Zing" boneless. Both were cooked well, with the traditional wings having a nice crisp skin and the boneless being juicy. The sauces, as always, are the star here, offering a fantastic range of flavors and heat levels to satisfy any craving. You're guaranteed to find a sauce or dry rub that suits your taste. Beyond the wings, the menu offers a typical sports bar spread – burgers, wraps, appetizers. We shared an order of fried pickles, which were perfectly crispy and served with a zesty ranch. The beer selection is also commendable, with a good mix of domestic and craft options on tap, perfect for pairing with your wings and the game. Where Buffalo Wild Wings truly shines is its atmosphere. With countless TVs broadcasting every imaginable sporting event, it's an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts. The energy is infectious, making it a fun place to gather with friends and cheer on your favorite team. The service was attentive and friendly, even during a busy period, and our food arrived in a timely manner. While the food is good, it's not going to win any culinary awards. It's comfort food designed for a sports-watching environment, and it fulfills that role admirably. Sometimes, the noise level can be quite high, especially during big games, which is to be expected but can make conversation a bit challenging. Overall, Buffalo Wild Wings in Norfolk is a reliable and enjoyable spot. If you're looking for a great place to watch sports, enjoy a wide variety of wings, and have a good time with friends, this location consistently delivers a solid four-star experience. It's a go-to...
Read moreI will NEVER come to this Buffalo Wild Wings ever again. When I arrived, the host tried to sit us at a table right next to the bathrooms. I asked if there was a booth, he proceeded to walk over. I stated I apologized and really appreciated it. No response. We were waiting for our server who finally came with no introduction for our drink order. Ordered our drinks again said thank you. With no response. Drinks were brought to the table again with a thank you and no response. She then came back to take our order. I ATTEMPTED to tell her my order. I got the appetizer out no problem. Went the entree and was attempting to say that I wanted a sauce on the side and could not get it out because she interrupted me not once, not twice but THREE times to tell me that sauce came with the appetizer that I already knew and wanted it with my entree as well. So finally after the third time of ATTEMPTING to place my order. I finally stated “If you would let me finish. You would understand that I want it on the side of my entree as well” she proceeded to act surprised and stated “I’m sorry” with an attitude. I said “it just appears that you’re not having a good day because I see and understand y’all are busy but that isn’t necessary.” She responds with “I’m having a great day” and proceeds to snatch three menus. I tried to hand her the last and she walks away and does not take it and proceeds to yell “Taylor” whom I’m assuming is the manager?? And she proceeds to speak to him in the middle of the building with all of the other employees on the floor crowding around like children. Which I’m assuming it was to say “in case these people complain.” We did NOT eat there and would NEVER go to this establishment again. This is beyond ridiculous from an establishment of service. Please teach your employees how to treat your customers as I’m sure I’m not the first customer that has had...
Read moreI used to come here every Sunday for football with my family and friends. There would be able 10 or 12 of us, we would hangout for the entire afternoon. Order drinks, food, desserts, etc. We were never difficult or anything like that, always tipped very well, and we're never too loud or disruptive. Service was always amazing!
But this year, we haven't been coming as much because the service has just gone terribly downhill.
We went in today, just my mother and I, to get appetizers and drinks. When we got there the restaurant was mostly empty and we were put on a wait. As soon as we sat down on the benches, the hostess seated us. Okay whatever, at least we got seated quickly. When she led us to our table, she slammed the menus down and didn't even greet us. She looked really angry. All the other tables I watched her seat, she did the exact same thing.
Our booth was dirty when we sat down, we had to wipe the tables down ourselves, and the area smelled of urine. Not very pleasant experience so far.
It took us about 15 minutes to get greeted by our server. We ordered fountain because we figured it would be the fastest since we were sitting right next to the drink fountains. It didn't take that long, we asked for a few minutes to order, and it took about 10 minutes for her to come back. It's still not busy in the restaurant either. We ordered our food and it came out fast, but we never saw our waitress again. It took asking multiple times and eventually going looking for her to even be able to get a refill. We tried to order desserts multiple times and had to go find her again for that. After that, we never saw her again. So we just gave up.
In the 4-5 years we have been coming to this Buffalo, we have NEVER had an experience like this. I definitely think we will be switching to Edinburgh...
