Located off of Greenbrier parkway at the Crossways shopping center is an indian restaurant I visited. They have 3 locations with the two Rajput Indian Cuisine restaurants in Norfolk and Suffolk that have phenomenal unlimited buffet options. I was surprised that this particular location didn't have the buffet option but they make their naan and food fresh in house. This place is called Rajput Indian Eats unlike the other branches that are known as Rajput Indian Cuisine.
On my visit to Rajput Indian Eats, I was blown away by the quality of the food. The sauce was absolutely amazing and really made the dishes stand out. I recommend the mango chutney and the mango lassi. The lamb tikka masala was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of spice. The lamb was also incredibly tender and flavorful, and the naan was soft and fluffy. it came piping hot out of the oven. My order of basmati rice wasn't enough for me and the family so I had to order more rice.
But the real standout dish for me was the butter chicken. It was hands down the best I've ever had. The sauce was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. I couldn't get enough of it!
The service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We managed to get our tables together to fit our group of 6.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Indian food with great sauce. The chicken tikka masala, lamb, naan, and butter chicken are...
Read moreI had lunch here this past Monday with my son. It was a huge disappointment to say the least for several reasons. First of all, the food. It completely lacked flavor. Everything tasted like it was from a mix and tasted very "food service". My son and I each got a naan wrap . I had chicken on mine and he had lamb kabob. The naan was absolutely huge! But the amount of protein they put on was just sad. Mine had 4 bites of dried up chicken and my son had 3 or 4 tiny pieces of lamb which was a $3.50 upcharge. It was mostly rice. The vegetables and the sauces especially were put on very sparingly. But the server didn't know how to "wrap" the wrap and when we sat down to eat it was just a huge mess on the paper and couldn't be picked up to eat. So we each got a wrap and a bottle of water and it was almost $44. Very expensive, especially considering the quality of the food. The staff was not at all friendly and acted almost mechanical and it wasn't because they were busy, they were only two other tables occupied. The worst part that will the experience though is almost immediately after leaving, my son and I both got very sick. I'm wondering if the food set out too long because they were not busy at all. At any rate a day-and-a-half later, I'm still sick in my stomach. Eat at...
Read moreStopped into Rajput today for lunch with my brother. This was my first time here. Not crowded and was able to order and be seated very fast. My brother and I both ordered the vegetarian Thali plates which included a choice of vegetarian entrees and a salad and sauces. I selected mixed vegetables and paneer for my entrees, and mixed lettuce, pickled onions and shredded coconut slaw for my salad and mint chutney for my sauce. I also made an order for 1 garlic naan to share with my brother. He ordered the same salad but mixed vegetables and Channa Masala for his entrees. Both Thali plates come with either fried vegetable rice or basmati rice and roti. Flavors were delicious, perfect spice level on the mixed vegetables and Channa Masala. I particularly loved the paneer. It had a lovely taste and perfect firmness with a nice citrus brightness. The garlic naan was exactly as I love, plenty of garlic and perfect thickness. I also completely enjoyed an after-lunch cardamom chai, you should try one! The owner, Paul, is a genuine joy to talk with and an awesome chef. Overall this was an excellent experience and I will return if in the area again. Thank you for a great...
