As a man of integrity today me and my friend went to this facility to get beads to make a necklace. As we were in the aisle, there was an employee that walk literally 6 times pass us. The second time around, in my peripheral view, the employee walked pass us and stop halfway and backed up and looked at us. At this point there was no customers in this aisle. It made it very obvious that the employee was observing to see if we were stealing. She did not ask us for any help which made her action obvious. Other employees also came near the aisle or in the aisle looking. Then at that point we felt really uncomfortable because we try not to press the fact that were young black guys, however, maybe because they saw us as two typical young guys. But that does not make it ok at all. Nobody should shop in fear of being falsely accused. We wasnât accused but actions made it known what they were looking for. However, when other customers came in the aisle they didnât stalk them. So we left and went to another aisle just to see and the same employee that walked pass us 6 times, did the same thing as we were in the other aisle. So it made it factual. So when we walked in the vicinity of the bead aisle there was another employee that asked us if we needed help and I asked her where was the clearance aisle and she kindly directed us. At this point, the girl that walked by us 6 times then asked right after us being directed to the clearance if we needed help. I felt targeted at this point. Why didnât you asked us before. So we decided to leave and paid for our items after the fact.Talked to the manager about the issues she apologized and said that the employees are very sensitive because they had a lot of theft in the store. We appreciate the apology but there are other ways to handle a possible issue. But not because of what they have on or what they look like. I know this will be deleted but...
Read moreI went into the store two days in a row. First day I was dressed up, and no one looked at me funny. No, one asked if I needed any help and I didn't get greeted at the door, I just went to find backyard decorations and checked out. ( THE CASHIER WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND THANK ME.) I loved a certain items so much I had to go back and get another one.I was dressed down. I walk in young lady up front greeted me. And I said hello back, and proceeded to the designated area to get my item to be in and out. There were three people that came over and walked past me and didn't and didn't offer assistance nor greeted me. They walked past me slowly as if expecting the item that I have in my hand. I had a garland in my hand that you can drape outside and I was inspecting it as an investment of what i'm going to pay 42 make sure it was in good shape. They made me feel very uncomfortable. As I walked up to the checkout line, I noticed the lady that was greeted me at the door had it blocked off with shopping carts. And was staring at me as if she was waiting for something. The store closes at 8pm and it was blocking the doors as if they was waiting for somebody to try to run out of the store or something. I've been in retail over 26 years as a district manager. This is a safety violation and unappropriate. If people understand that all they have to do is customer service. Be aware of the surroundings of the service that you're given to your customers and smile and follow-up. You wouldn't have to do this. And what's unfortunate is the manager was right up there and didn't do any customer...
Read moreI am a loyal customer of Hobby Lobby and shop there frequently. Tonight I had a terrible experience. I was checking out about 20 minutes before the store was closing and there was only one register open. I waited in line for about 10 minutes until they opened up another register. The cashier (Skylar) pointed at me (at this point I was next in line and there were about 10 people behind me) and said âI can help you hereâ. As I am moving literally a few feet to her register, a group of obnoxious girls cut in front of me (and all of the other patiently waiting customers) brushing my shoulder and just threw their items on the counter. I asked Skylar, âdidnât you just say you were going to help me being that Iâm the next one in the line?â And she didn't say anything. One of the girls that cut in line said âitâs not the end of the world these white people think they get everythingâ. The cashier continued to ring up their items as I am just standing there in disbelief. I should have just walked out because now I feel even more dumb giving hobby lobby my money but instead I waited and she checked me out next. She didnât say anything while checking me out.. no apology or anything. What terrible customer service and also if things were reversed and I made that racial slur lord knows this incident would be on national television. I doubt I will ever be shopping there again after...
