Yesterday was my 1st experience with Raising Canes Chicken. My in-person experience was so-so. I did have high expectations for the food and experience because of all the hype from when they initially opened 2weeks ago.
I did not go when they 1st opened because im an impatient person and i dont like waiting long periods. So i decided to go Yesterday when i was off work and had more time.
My experience was the following:
TIME: There was a long line throughout the store(it was packed). But it did not take too long before being able to place my order (maybe about 10mins, given the amount of ppl in there). After placing my order, i did have to wait another 10-15mins to receive my order. So from the time i got in line till the time i actually received my food was apprx 25mins.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: The kids working inside were great! Very friendly, positive attitudes, very helpful, they were workin fast to service the customers! 100pct good job for them kids handling all those customers 👏👏👏. Drive-thru was cray-zee long too!
THE FOOD: I ordered the 6-piece chicken fingers meal with a sweet tea/lemonade mix. ALLL of the sides were perfect! The food was fresh n hott! The coleslaw was tasty, the warm garlic bread was the best food item they had.
Now comes the disappointing part...the chicken fingers were all things perfect FOR THE EXCEPTION of the taste! This taste-less chicken is what you would serve to someone in the hospital that cant have any type of seasoning, sodium or flavoring. The chicken was bland, barely any seasoning even in the breading! I was confused and conflicted at the same time because the chicken was perfectly warm, perfectly moist and tender. Even the dipping sauce taste was savory and perfect but that darn chicken taste absolutely taste-less. Definitely disappointed with what i was excited for. Expectations were defeated 😔. I thought Raising Cane was gonna be stiff competition for Chick-fil-A(right down the street)...NOPE...not at all!
Raising Canes is in a prime location for business and i can see them taking customer business from other nearby restaurants ONLY IF they change their recipe to include seasoning their chicken! If they DO THAT, then Chick-fil-A is in trouble. If not...then ill continue to drive right passed them and order my spicy chicken sandwich extra pickle and pepperjack cheese, sweettea/lemonade with Chick-fil-A 😋🤗.
Ill come back in 6months to see if Raising Canes improves their chicken. In the meantime Chick-fil-A is...

The place was clean and modern looking, as it should be for a brand new restaurant. However, the dining room is surprisingly small. They did use some of their square footage for outside seating, which for this area is a bit strange. Pretty much no one sits outside in the wintertime here and spring and summer gets ridiculously hot and humid... Whatever. For some reason they had the music (playing top 40) up so loud, that I could barely hear the person ringing me up. I kept asking her to repeat everything. Of course this meant everyone in the restaurant had to yell to anyone else with they were with. I couldnt even block out the noise with earbuds shoved in my ears and listening to a YouTube video.
So they dont have a lot of menu options. I have no problem with that, its actually kind of a nice change from having too many options at other places. Its chicken fingers or a chicken sandwich. I went with chicken fingers. You also get coleslaw, Texas toast, and fries. You also get a cup of Cane's sauce to dip your chicken in.
So the good: The chicken fingers were huge. They are not skimping there. They were cooked well and juicy. There were plenty of fries, as well. The Texas toast was a decent size, as well. The amount of coleslaw was just right - I wouldnt want more.
Now the bad: Absolutely none of the food's flavor was remarkable in any way, shape or form. You know the phrase "Turn it up to 11?" They did the opposite. They turned the flavor down to 1. If I have you a piece of chicken from Chic-fil-A, Popeyes, or KFC, you would instantly recognize it. Raising Cane's chicken fingers tasted like chicken fingers. There was nothing special about it at all. Thats where the Cane's sauce comes in, right? You are expecting an explosion of flavor or spice or something from this purposefully named sauce. Well... It was kind of subtle as well, which is surprising since I just looked up what in it.
Honestly, based on my first visit to Raising Cane's, I would prefer CFA, KFC, or Popeyes. However, I am going to give them another chance. Ill go back in a few weeks after the rush is over and see if it...
